Salary Range: $20.20 To $29.48 Annually OUR CORE PILLARS: Safety | Operational Excellence | Shareholder Value Propulsion Controls Engineering has a current opening for a Quality Assurance NDT Inspector I, with Minimum of 2-4 years experience in ship repair / shipyard and good mechanical and welding aptitude; supporting our Bremerton and Everett, WA locations. Job Summary: The Quality Assurance NDT Inspector I is responsible for executing in-process and final Nondestructive Testing (NDT) inspections through Visual and Liquid Penetrant test methodologies, ensuring adherence to technical specifications for reliability and quality standards. Responsible for scheduling, conducting, observing, documenting, and submitting testing and inspection outcomes for work certification. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to adhering to established processes and policies, and the capability to meticulously document the completion of all tests and inspections promptly. Exhibits a comprehensive knowledge of relevant welding and inspection standards, NAVSEA Standard Items, fundamental work specifications, and pertinent drawings or technical publications. The capacity to accurately interpret these references on-site is essential. Accountable for ensuring the safe execution of in-process and final operational checkpoints, which necessitates a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of the test, adherence to all mandated safety protocols, undivided situational awareness, and total concentration on the task at hand. Conducts comprehensive Visual and Liquid Penetrant inspections in accordance with relevant standards, including but not limited to: NSTP 278 - Requirements for Fabrication Welding and Inspection, and Casting Inspection and Repair for Machinery, Piping, and Pressure Vessels; Mil Std 22D – Welded Joint Designs; Mil Std 1689 – Fabrication, Welding, and Inspection of Ship Structures; NAVSEA 7000 – Fabrication and Inspection of Brazed Piping Systems; and Mil Std 2035 – Nondestructive Testing and Acceptance Criteria. Exhibits comprehensive expertise in blueprint interpretation, along with a deep understanding of intricate work specifications and technical manuals related to equipment and publications. Demonstrates proficient utilization of advanced technical measuring and diagnostic instruments. Guarantees the exclusive use of calibrated equipment for accurate measurement and assessment of technical specifications as outlined in blueprints, technical manuals, government regulations, and diverse equipment publications. In addition to performing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections, the individual also conducts Quality Assurance (QA) inspections to support the company's work, ensuring compliance and acceptance by government representatives, prime contractor QA representatives, and subcontractor QA and trade representatives. Produces comprehensive inspection reports for evaluations conducted, intended for submission as Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) to clients. The individual offers expert technical support to the Production Department, as well as to customers and vendors, ensuring a clear understanding of quality requirements. They supply essential information, including acceptance and rejection criteria for Test and Inspection Records (TIRs), Test and Inspection Plans (TIPs), Condition Found Reports (CFRs), Inspection/Deficiency Reports (IDRs), Test Memoranda, and Work Specifications. Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.
