This position is contracted for the entire season, with season prep and season close out weeks occurring before and after passenger season. font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You'll Do:</span></span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt\">Ensure passenger safety, provide customer service, assist in and/or conduct vessel operations and maintenance as directed by Senior Deckhand or Vessel Captain.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Duties and Responsibilities:<br></span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt\">Advanced seamanship duties including safety equipment, line handling, knots, splices, and boat handling</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt\">Perform individual station bill responsibilities</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Participate in safety drills and training</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must be familiar with matters relating to emergency conditions including but not limited to Man Overboard, Fire, Abandon Ship, Foul Weather, Medical Emergency and Collisio</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Assist with Kachemak Voyager vessel operations</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">On-board passenger ticket sales and collection of money</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Load and unload passengers under direction of the Senior Deckhand or Vessel Captain</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt\">Respond as assigned to all vessel emergencies in accordance with safety procedures</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt\">Actively engage passengers to provide outstanding customer service</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt\">Maintain vessel cleanliness and appearance to the highest standards</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica\">Assist in performing vessel maintenance in accordance with phased maintenance schedules, as directed by the Vessel Captain</span><br></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt\">Inspect all areas of the vessel for environmental, safety, and health deficiencies on a regular schedule</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt\">Report all deficiencies to Senior Deckhand or Vessel Captain and under the direction of the Vessel Captain, Senior Deckhand carry out corrective actions to the maximum extent possible</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must be familiar with the characteristics unique to each dock/port, vessel, and conditions routinely encountered (i.e. fog, fishing areas, driftwood, etc.)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Complete routine reports as directed</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Provide assistance with any concession stand sales or set up (i.e. make coffee, refill stock, etc.)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ability to help load and unload freight from vessel for traveling passengers</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Perform duties associated with the protection and evacuation of passengers during an emergency situation</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Other duties as assigned by the Seldovia Bay Ferry Manager</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You'll Need: </span><br></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt\">Must pass all alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG including but not limited to pre-employment, random, and post-accident/incident testing.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt\">Be at least 18+ years of age</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">CPR/First Aid- renewals offered at no cost by Seldovia Village Tribe</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">General knowledge of COLREGS and Inland Rules of the Road</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">A strong understanding of Seldovia Village Tribe’s mission, vision, and core values</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Completion of Position Qualification- Deckhand</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must be able to conduct crowd control measures and casualty control measures</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Demonstrated leadership ability </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;
