PDG is seeking a Junior Engineer to add to our growing and talented team.</p><p>The perfect candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. You should have a working knowledge of relevant structural concepts pertaining to bridges and other highway structures, enabling you to understand and assess their condition.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Structural analyses of bridges.</li><li>Assist with the preparation of &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;design calculations and details.</li><li>Assist in the preparation of &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;contract plans and specifications.</li><li>Assist in the preparation of &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;construction cost estimates.</li><li>Assist in the review of &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;construction submittals.</li><li>Perform occasional field &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;inspections of existing structures.</li><li>Perform occasional field visits &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;to resolve construction issues.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Knowledge of basic structural &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;engineering principals and techniques.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;communication skills.</li><li>Must be focused on providing &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;quality work.</li><li>Working knowledge of relevant &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;structural concepts of bridges and other highway structures.</li><li>Experienced in common computer &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel), experience with AutoCAD and/or &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;MicroStation preferred.</li><li>A Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.</li><li>0 – 3 years of progressive experience in the field.</li><li>No certifications are required.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p><ul><li>Professional office environment</li><li>Occasional work outside of the office at project sites and occasional travel within NY State and surrounding areas&nbsp;</li><li>Work alongside a Professional Engineer (PE).</li><li>Position includes a career &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;development plan with an established path towards their PE.</li><li>Interacts with other PDG personnel</li><li>Receives close supervision, training and mentoring on all tasks&nbsp;</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></p><ul><li>Must physically be able to &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;perform field inspection work, e.g., carry/climb ladders, wade in streams, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;work around traffic, work at heights, etc.</li><li>This job requires prolonged periods of sitting at a computer&nbsp;</li><li>This job requires the ability to lift up to 25lbs</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>About Popli Design Group (PDG)</strong>&nbsp;</p><p>PDG is a well-established multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering firm that has been serving clients since 1982.
