    "description": "<h2></h2>\n<p>GFT is seeking a <strong>Group Leader - Senior Bridge Engineer </strong>who is eager to further their career for the Ohio bridge practice as part of our dynamic and growing structures group. This position is generally in the office 3 days per week. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Working on the bridge team at <strong>GFT</strong> offers the opportunity to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity. Whether working on highways and bridges or traffic engineering, our team excels in resilient, sustainable design and construction, delivering innovative solutions that address the complexities of modern, multimodal roadway systems and ensure safe, efficient, and reliable travel for all. Explore some of our signature transportation projects here.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What you’ll be challenged to do:</strong></p>\n<p>Guide a growing bridge team through complex project delivery while shaping the direction of the Ohio practice and developing the next generation of engineers. This role places you at the intersection of technical leadership and people leadership, where you will refine your ability to set vision, elevate staff performance, strengthen client trust, and steer high-profile pursuits that expand GFT’s presence in the region. You will deepen your influence on project strategy, resource planning, and team development, positioning yourself for broader leadership opportunities as the practice continues to grow.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage bridge projects for projects predominately in Ohio but other locals as needed</li>\n <li>Manage bridge staff working in-office and remotely </li>\n <li>Prepare and perform complex structural analysis, and design calculations, drawings and details for engaging bridge projects.</li>\n <li>Lead bridge and structural tasks, including the development and reporting of production work plans and calculations as part of a project team</li>\n <li>Assist with the management of design, review process and permitting through outside agencies</li>\n <li>Assist with business development, client presentations and proposal preparations for the most exciting and challenging bridge projects in the Ohio region</li>\n <li>Coordinate with clients with submittals, meetings and comments as required for successful project delivery, and client satisfaction</li>\n <li>Attend virtual and in-person client meetings</li>\n <li>Coordinate with and manage technical staff to meet project deadlines with sub-consultants</li>\n <li>Develop, monitor, and maintain engineering budgets on major bridge projects</li>\n <li>Assist in preparing project scope and schedules on Ohio DOT pursuits</li>\n <li>Mentor, train and review work performed by junior engineering staff</li>\n</ul>\n<h2></h2>\n<p><strong>What you will bring to our firm: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering</li>\n <li>Registered Professional Engineer with an Ohio license or have the ability to obtain one through reciprocity within 6 months of employment</li>\n <li>Approximately 15+ years of professional bridge engineering experience, including management of projects</li>\n <li>Existing working relationship with Ohio DOT and local municipal</li>\n <li>Experience in bridge design on Ohio DOT projects and have an understanding of their practices, procedures, and standards</li>\n <li>Understanding of standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable Codes, including AASHTO and AREMA</li>\n <li>Proficiency in AASHTOWare and BrR required</li>\n <li>Proficiency in LEAP Concrete/Bridge, CSI Bridge, and MIDAS Civil preferred</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of developing plans in the AutoDesk platform</li>\n <li>Solid communication and writing skills including technical report writing</li>\n <li>Structural problem analysis skills</li>\n <li>Active professional involvement in local engineering societies</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What we prefer you bring: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with MicroStation, including Open Roads and Open Bridge Designer preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<h3><strong>Compensation: $160,000 - $215,000; Salary dependent upon experience and geographic location</strong></h3>\n<h3>Featured Benefits:</h3>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Hybrid (in-person and remote) work environment.</p></li>\n <li><p>Comprehensive benefits package, including wellness programs, parental leave, and pet insurance, in addition to medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.</p></li>\n <li><p>Tax-deferred 401(k) savings plan.</p></li>\n <li><p>Competitive paid time off (PTO) accrual.</p></li>\n <li><p>Tuition reimbursement for continued education.</p></li>\n <li><p>Commitment to professional development, access to internal and external training programs, and support of active participation in professional organizations.</p></li>\n <li><p>Incentive compensation for eligible positions.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2></h2>\n<p>At GFT, a privately held AEC firm, we innovate where transportation, water, power and buildings converge.
