Meet requirements for Supply Chain Management related activities, procurement of equipment, materials, and services required for all domestic and international refineries and VTDC locations, MLP, and joint ventures operations, maintenance, turnarounds, and capital projects (scope excludes purchase of refinery feedstocks, energy, and transportation for feedstock and products). Address Supply Chain Management related requirements for all sites and executive management. Develop and issue RFIs, RFPs and RFQs as required to purchase required equipment, materials and services. Assure warehouse inventory purchase requirements are being met through supplier agreements. Assure timely delivery of equipment, materials and services to meet deadlines for maintenance, turnarounds and capital projects. Develop strong networks and working relationships involving suppliers, sites and executive management. Assure purchases are made in compliance with Valero’s AMLs (Approved Manufacturers Lists). Assure procurement activities are in compliance with all Valero guidelines, policies and procedures. Work with other Supply Chain Management directors and managers responsible for multi-site agreements to maximize utilization and value from these agreements Provide feedback on supplier performance, opportunities for improvements to existing agreements, and opportunities for new multi-site agreements. Assist all sites with supplier performance issues resolution. Coordinate Supply Chain Management efforts with corporate engineering, project execution to minimize total cost of ownership and to maximize profitability. This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or GED required. 3 years of experience in supply chain management, engineering, auditing, business analytics, and/or related functions required. Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent technical degree preferred. 1 year experience in procurement of refinery-related goods and services preferred. Strong negotiation skills. Working knowledge of SAP procurement and related systems. Strong analytical skills. Strong project and change management skills. Proficient in use of computers for performing analyses and developing management presentations. Effective at communication with all levels from executive management to front line employees at sites. Ability to read and interpret company policies, regulatory guidelines, and other work-related documentation. Ability to abide by confidentiality requirements when working with sensitive information, results, and communications. Skill in providing thorough, efficient, and effective customer service to individuals at all levels within the organization. Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods. Ability to accomplish work within required timelines, including short, long, and emergency timeframes. Ability to cross-train in other department duties to ensure efficient coverage department responsibilities.
