Assure timely delivery of equipment, materials and services to meet deadlines for maintenance, turnarounds and capital projects. Develop strong networks and working relationships involving suppliers, sites and executive management. Assure purchases are made in compliance with Valero’s AMLs (Approved Manufacturers Lists). Assure procurement activities are in compliance with all Valero guidelines, policies and procedures. Work with other Supply Chain Management directors and managers responsible for multi-site agreements to maximize utilization and value from these agreements Provide feedback on supplier performance, opportunities for improvements to existing agreements, and opportunities for new multi-site agreements. Assist all sites with supplier performance issues resolution. Coordinate Supply Chain Management efforts with corporate engineering, project execution to minimize total cost of ownership and to maximize profitability. Strong negotiation skills. Working knowledge of SAP procurement and related systems. Strong analytical skills. Strong project and change management skills. Proficient in use of computers for performing analyses and developing management presentations. Effective at communication with all levels from executive management to front line employees at sites. Ability to read and interpret company policies, regulatory guidelines, and other work-related documentation. Ability to abide by confidentiality requirements when working with sensitive information, results, and communications. Skill in providing thorough, efficient, and effective customer service to individuals at all levels within the organization. Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods. Ability to accomplish work within required timelines, including short, long, and emergency timeframes. Ability to cross-train in other department duties to ensure efficient coverage department responsibilities.
