Reporting to the Mold Making Supervisor, the Toolmaker ensures the team meets or exceeds all goals and objectives<br>required from this department.</span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Key Responsibilities:</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Perform final inspection, complete work documentation, maintain material identification, and move work piece</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Fit and assemble a mold which includes, but is not limited to: transfer and locate holes; fit and size mold components; check cooling and heating circuits; install mold components in the spotting press; spot the mold; final-inspect mold; install ejector system components; install runner system components; check assembled mold; move work piece; and, complete work documentation</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Repair molds used to mass produce plastic or metal components or products</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Perform work-in-progress measuring or checking using specialized and precision tools and equipment</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Make all appropriate personnel aware of any potential tooling problems, issues or questions</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Maintain a clean workspace and organization of materials</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs using provided paper and/or electronic logs</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Devise and detail a plan for the mold-building process including verify features of the mold components, develop and organize a mold build plan, perform mold-building related calculations, assemble and verify tooling stock materials, produce a detailed sketch of mold components, build tooling aids for mold-building process, lay out template(s), and produce templates</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and work-process documentation</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Use the overhead crane to transport molds / mold components through the shop and set up molds in presses (weight up to 50,000lbs)</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Use the forklift to transport molds / mold components throughout the shop and prepare them for tryouts (weight up to 5,000lbs)</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>At all times, adhere to customer standards on all tool designs and the internal lean manufacturing guidelines</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Responsible for maintaining safe operations by keeping work area clean and organized and by adhering to safety procedures and regulations</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Participate in required meetings and training, as requested</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Qualifications:</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>High school diploma or equivalent is required</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Ten (10) years of related experience as a mold maker</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Ability to perform under pressure and work independently</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as required</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Ability to ensure quality standards are met</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Strong attention to detail is required</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Proficient in time management and communication skills</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Red Seal is an asset</span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Physical Demands &amp; Working Conditions</span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Requires walking, and on your feet for most of the day.
