Are you a passionate about environmental stewardship? As a Project Environmental Specialist, you will provide technical input on environmental monitoring and design or construction methods to ensure compliance with environmental specifications or regulatory standards.

What you will be doing
Support the development and implementation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP).
Track compliance with applicable best management practices, Permit conditions, Environmental Work Plans, Environmental Management Plans, and site-specific plans.
Coordinate environmental design and construction input between various disciplines.
Collaborate with the project team in developing Environmental Work Plans and Environmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Conduct environmental risk assessments, identify potential impacts and develop and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Prepare and review reporting associated with environmental compliance (e.g., Weekly Environmental Reports, Monthly Environmental Reports, Environmental Incident Reports, etc.).
Support the development and implementation of an environmental training and awareness program.
Manage data collection, storage and analysis.
Assist with environmental incident investigations in accordance with incident reporting procedures.
Support with field work, including environmental monitoring, and data collection.
Liaise on a day-to-day basis with project supervisors and others.
What we are looking for
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
5 – 8 years’ experience in construction projects of similar size/scope.
CAN-CISEC or equivalent erosion and sediment control certification.
Knowledge of Provincial and Federal environmental regulations (e.g., Water Sustainability Act, Environmental Assessment Act, etc.).
Past experience in environmental inspecting and monitoring.
Effective communication, data organization and technical reporting skills.
Ability to work outside in various weather and terrain conditions.
Proficiency with computer programs for managing and communicating environmental data.
Valid driver’s license
