Description

About the Role: The Maintenance Shift Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facilities during assigned shifts. This position is responsible for leading and coordinating a team of maintenance technicians to perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks that minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The supervisor will oversee daily maintenance activities, troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Additionally, the role involves planning and prioritizing maintenance work orders, managing resources effectively, and collaborating with production and engineering teams to support operational goals. Ultimately, the Maintenance Shift Supervisor ensures that all maintenance operations align with company policies and contribute to a safe, reliable, and high-performing manufacturing environment. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred. Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in manufacturing environments. Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting. Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or related discipline. Certification in maintenance management or relevant technical certifications (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, PLC programming). Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and maintenance planning software. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team development and conflict resolution. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance technicians during assigned shifts to ensure timely and effective completion of maintenance tasks. Monitor equipment performance and conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement preventive maintenance strategies. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment failures to minimize production downtime. Assign work orders, prioritize maintenance requests, and ensure proper documentation and reporting of maintenance activities. Enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance to maintain a safe working environment for all maintenance personnel. Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades. Train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance staff to enhance team skills and performance. Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and coordinate with procurement to ensure availability of necessary parts and tools.
