Opportunity Overview
As a member of the Rhythm GSA team, you will focus on advancing medical and scientific initiatives in Rare MC4R pathway diseases. In close collaboration with the national and international Medical Affairs teams, the Scientific Affairs Manager (SAM) will provide scientific leadership and support for the implementation of integrated tactical and engagement plans, while upholding the highest standards of compliance and scientific integrity in Austria.
Responsibilities and Duties Serve as the Scientific Affairs Manager for Austria and as a member of the international Medical Affairs team. Contribute to the development and implement of the integrated strategic and tactical plan with key focus on the medical and scientific projects and tactics Organize and lead local advisory boards and expert meetings to foster scientific exchange and support the local strategy. Provide scientific and medical support for the implementation of the local strategy, especially in the field of Rare MC4R pathway diseases in which genetic variants or damage to the hypothalamus can lead to hyperphagia and significant increase of body weight Build and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with external experts and stakeholders, delivering clinical, scientific, and medical education. Oversee and initiate medical projects in collaboration with clinical partners and research networks. Provide professional oversight and further development of the company’s internal genetic testing programs, in cooperation with local healthcare providers and experts. Support the execution of clinical projects, including identification and training of sites and assistance with patient recruitment. Contribute to the development and implementation of scientific communication plans and medical information materials, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements. Collaborate closely with Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance and Market Access. Identify knowledge gaps among healthcare professionals and organize non-promotional scientific presentations. Participate in local medical and cross-functional projects and initiatives. Ensure effective and compliant communication with internal and external stakeholders. Support the commercial team and HCPs with knowledge building around the efficacy and safety of Rhythm’s products including how to use. Play a pivotal role in establishing appropriate multidisciplinary care including patient support programs. Play a pivotal role in identifying hurdles and solutions in order to optimize patient identification and referral pathways. Qualifications and Skills Advanced degree in pharmaceutical, scientific, or medical field (PharmD, PhD, MD). At least 6 years of experience in a comparable role within the biopharmaceutical sector, ideally with a focus on rare diseases. Excellent communication skills and scientific expertise, especially in presenting to diverse audiences. Proven skills and ability to work in a cross functional team without silos. Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken. In-depth knowledge of the Austrian healthcare system, medical landscape, and current trends in reimbursement and industry. Willingness to travel within Austria.

In close collaboration with the national and international Medical Affairs teams, the Scientific Affairs Manager (SAM) will provide scientific leadership and support for the implementation of integrated tactical and engagement plans, while upholding the highest standards of compliance and scientific integrity in Austria.\n Responsibilities and Duties Serve as the Scientific Affairs Manager for Austria and as a member of the international Medical Affairs team.\n Contribute to the development and implement of the integrated strategic and tactical plan with key focus on the medical and scientific projects and tactics\n Organize and lead local advisory boards and expert meetings to foster scientific exchange and support the local strategy.\n Provide scientific and medical support for the implementation of the local strategy, especially in the field of Rare MC4R pathway diseases in which genetic variants or damage to the hypothalamus can lead to hyperphagia and significant increase of body weight\n Build and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with external experts and stakeholders, delivering clinical, scientific, and medical education.\n Oversee and initiate medical projects in collaboration with clinical partners and research networks.\n Provide professional oversight and further development of the company’s internal genetic testing programs, in cooperation with local healthcare providers and experts.\n Support the execution of clinical projects, including identification and training of sites and assistance with patient recruitment.\n Contribute to the development and implementation of scientific communication plans and medical information materials, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements.\n Collaborate closely with Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance and Market Access.\n Identify knowledge gaps among healthcare professionals and organize non-promotional scientific presentations.\n Participate in local medical and cross-functional projects and initiatives.\n Ensure effective and compliant communication with internal and external stakeholders.\n Support the commercial team and HCPs with knowledge building around the efficacy and safety of Rhythm’s products including how to use.\n Play a pivotal role in establishing appropriate multidisciplinary care including patient support programs.\n Play a pivotal role in identifying hurdles and solutions in order to optimize patient identification and referral pathways.\n Qualifications and Skills\n Advanced degree in pharmaceutical, scientific, or medical field (PharmD, PhD, MD).\n At least 6 years of experience in a comparable role within the biopharmaceutical sector, ideally with a focus on rare diseases.\n Excellent communication skills and scientific expertise, especially in presenting to diverse audiences.\n Proven skills and ability to work in a cross functional team without silos.\n Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.\n In-depth knowledge of the Austrian healthcare system, medical landscape, and current trends in reimbursement and industry.\n Willingness to travel within Austria.\n More about Rhythm\n We are a dynamic and growing global team spanning more than a dozen countries.
