Description

Overview Job Summary Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an experienced Space and Cyber Architect to support mission-critical initiatives for the United States Space Force (USSF). This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to national security and the advancement of space operations capabilities. In this role, you will support government acquisition activities by providing technical expertise in space operations, training, testing, and evaluation of systems and products that inform acquisition strategies and mission planning. You will play a key role in assessing technical solutions, conducting evaluations, and ensuring contractor proposals align with mission objectives, operational requirements, and program goals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in defense acquisition, systems architecture, and procurement processes, along with the ability to support complex technical and strategic initiatives. This position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to drive informed decision-making and long-term mission success. Key Responsibilities The Space and Cyber Range Architect will: Support United States Space Force (USSF) acquisition and operational initiatives through expertise in space operations, test, training, and evaluation activities Conduct and support space operations training, operational evaluations, and range planning activities, including oversight and execution of range events Provide Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) support within a Space Force Program Office, contributing to acquisition planning and program execution across the full life cycle of space systems Develop and refine space operations training and evaluation products to support mission readiness and operational effectiveness Support technical assessments, risk analysis, and acquisition decision-making for complex space and cyber programs Collaborate with government stakeholders, program leadership, and cross-functional teams to align mission objectives with acquisition and operational priorities Identify program risks and recommend mitigation strategies to ensure successful execution of mission objectives Prepare and deliver briefings, reports, and technical documentation for senior and executive-level defense stakeholders Provide subject matter expertise related to U.S. Space Force organizational structure, operational missions, and strategic priorities Requirements Skills and Experience The Space and Cyber Range Architect must have: Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance 10+ years of hands-on Department of Defense (DoD) experience supporting space operations, space operations training and evaluation, and range planning/execution activities Extensive experience supporting complex test, training, and operational environments with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities Proven experience providing Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) support within a U.S. Space Force Program Office Strong understanding of the space acquisition lifecycle, including development, testing, delivery, fielding, and sustainment of space systems Experience developing space operations training and evaluation products and supporting mission readiness initiatives Direct experience working with U.S. Space Force organizations, including Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) and Combat Forces Command (CFC) Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and senior leadership Strong critical thinking, risk assessment, and mitigation planning skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience briefing and engaging senior government and defense leadership Thorough understanding of U.S. Space Force missions, organizational structure, operational concepts, and stakeholder priorities Education and Certifications The Space and Cyber Range Architect must meet the following: Required Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required Preferred Project Management Professional certification Benefits Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance Flexible Spending Accounts 401(k) PTO Paid Parental Leave Tuition reimbursement Paid federal holidays Security Clearance Must be a U.S. Citizen.
