    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>CVP is seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) to join our team providing care for our Nation's Veterans at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center- Fort Thomas. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We have full-time, part-time and PRN contract opportunities available. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Provide specialized nursing care to patients with spinal cord injuries</p></li>\n <li><p>Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans focused on rehabilitation goals and outcomes</p></li>\n <li><p>Administer medications, perform wound care, and manage complex medical needs specific to SCI patients</p></li>\n <li><p>Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams including physical, occupational, and speech therapists</p></li>\n <li><p>Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans based on rehabilitation goals and outcomes</p></li>\n <li><p>Provide patient and family education on self-care techniques, adaptive equipment usage, and transition planning for home</p></li>\n <li><p>Support patients through emotional and physical adjustment to injury or disability</p></li>\n <li><p>Implement bowel and bladder management programs specific to SCI patients</p></li>\n <li><p>Prevent and manage complications common in SCI patients such as pressure injuries, respiratory issues, autonomic dysreflexia, and spasticity</p></li>\n <li><p>Document patient care accurately in electronic medical records</p></li>\n <li><p>Participate in team meetings and care conferences to coordinate comprehensive rehabilitation plans</p></li>\n <li><p>Advocate for patients' needs within the healthcare system</p></li>\n <li><p>Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices in SCI and rehabilitation nursing</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in any US state, territory, or the District of Columbia</p></li>\n <li><p>Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)</p></li>\n <li><p>Current BLS certification</p></li>\n <li><p>Current ACLS certification</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience in SCI nursing</p></li>\n <li><p>Knowledge of complications specific to SCI patients and appropriate nursing interventions</p></li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills</li>\n <li><p>Proficiency with electronic medical records</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to successfully undergo a Government sponsored background investigation (US Citizenship required)</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Location</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Cincinnati VA Medical Center - Fort Thomas, 1000 South Fort Thomas Ave, Fort Thomas, KY<strong></strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About CVP</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>CVP is an award-winning healthcare and next-gen technology and consulting services firm solving critical problems for healthcare, national security, and public sector clients.
