Services include magazine, catalog, book, and tradeshow printing, brochures, direct mailers, postcards, variable data printing, statements, glossy inserts, annual reports, fulfillment, first class mail pick-up, and print & digital publications. Job Summary The Mailroom Equipment Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining mailroom production equipment to ensure the accurate preparation, packaging, and distribution of printed materials. This role supports efficient production workflow, helps meet critical deadlines, and upholds quality and safety standards within a fast-paced commercial printing environment. This is a full-time, second shift position, Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.
Essential Functions Set up, adjust, and operate mailroom equipment including inserters, stackers, plastic wrap machines, bottom wrappers, and strapping/tiering equipment. Ensure accurate inserting, labeling, sorting, and packaging of printed products for distribution. Operate inkjet labeling systems to apply addressing and variable data as needed. Transport printed materials and finished products using powered equipment, including electric pallet jacks. Monitor equipment performance and product quality, making adjustments to maintain efficiency and accuracy. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and complete minor equipment repairs to reduce downtime. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with housekeeping standards. Follow all safety procedures, including OSHA regulations and lockout/tagout requirements. Meet production schedules and deadlines, while maintaining strong attention to quality and detail. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in a mailroom, manufacturing, or commercial printing environment is helpful, but not required. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn and operate production equipment and machinery. Basic computer proficiency, including navigating machine interfaces and entering data. Ability to read and interpret job tickets, operating instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation. Strong attention to detail with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Expected compensation for this role is between $18 and $19/hour, based on qualifications and experience.
