    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>MBP is seeking new Team Members for growth opportunities and to work on meaningful projects that support our community.  For this position, we seek candidates in the Arlington, Virginia, area with 3 or more years of combined education and/or experience. Significant experience in construction work activities, with demonstrated increasing responsibility, of the same or similar type as that of the project to which the Engineer II is assigned.  Experience may be in the following sectors: federal, state, municipal, K-12 schools, water/wastewater, higher education, healthcare, data centers, laboratory facilities, transportation, ports, or marina projects. K-12 experience is preferred.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>MAIN DUTIES:</strong></p>\n<p>Project assignments may involve on-site representation, project documentation,, inspections, quality control/quality assurance, plan review, and research of records.  Maintaining electronic files for the project documents on the Project Directory and clean-up of records and files for job close out.  Assisting with facility and infrastructure sustainment, restoration, and modernization projects.  Capable of providing a leadership role in planning and managing small to mid-size projects and/or leading a sub-group on a large project.  Builds positive and productive working relationships with peers, superiors, and subordinates.  </p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>ADDITIONAL DUTIES:</strong></p>\n<p>Engage in training and professional development, participate in marketing activities, involvement with professional associations, and active participation in company initiatives.   Project management responsibility in close liaison with Project Manager on small to mid-size projects.  Analyze and optimize internal and external processes.  Other duties as assigned.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.</li>\n <li>EIT certification, CMIT certification, PE preferred.  </li>\n <li>Working toward other certifications such as PE, CCM, CCE, PSP.  </li>\n <li>Knowledge of engineering principles, principles of construction management and project controls, with specialized knowledge of one or more areas including scheduling, cost estimating, documentation, contract administration, or construction techniques.</li>\n <li>Understanding of building codes, laws and regulations that might affect assigned projects.  </li>\n <li>Must possess OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.  </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Report writing, client coordination, and carrying out assignments from conception to completion.  </li>\n <li>Proficiency with many software including Microsoft Office programs, CADD, BIM Platforms (such as Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk 360), and graphics.  </li>\n <li>Ability to work within budgets and meet deadlines.  </li>\n <li>Able to identify potential problems and derive recommended solutions from past experiences.</li>\n <li>Skilled in more than one of the following services: critical path method schedules, cost estimating, project budgeting, financial analysis, delay analysis, constructibility and design review, inspections, automated control systems, quantity take-offs, and closeouts.</li>\n <li>Ability to pay meticulous attention to detail.</li>\n <li>Ability to utilize computers (including Microsoft Office software) and other specialized equipment.</li>\n <li>Ability to understand and track project schedules. </li>\n <li>Ability to communicate issues effectively and responsibly (verbally and in writing) with internal and external customers (i.e., contractors, owners, subconsultants and fellow team members). </li>\n <li>Ability to obtain and maintain industry certifications specific to duties assigned.</li>\n <li>Ability to work collaboratively within a team.</li>\n <li>Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds (occasionally) and 20 pounds (frequently).</li>\n <li>Able to stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.</li>\n <li>Ability to safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>GUIDANCE/RESPONSIBILITY:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assignments are generally received from Senior Engineer, Construction Manager or Project Manager.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently, seeking periodic guidance and direction.  </li>\n <li>Public and client interface.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong>SUPERVISORY:</strong></p>\n<p>May supervise technical or support staff on individual project assignments.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>STATUS:</strong></p>\n<p>Full-time</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>BENEFITS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive compensation with opportunities for semi-annual bonuses</li>\n <li>Generous Paid Time Off and holiday schedules</li>\n <li>100% Employer paid medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability benefits (for individual)</li>\n <li>Health Savings Account with company contribution</li>\n <li>401(k)/Roth 401(k) plan with company match</li>\n <li>Tuition Assistance and Student Loan Reimbursement</li>\n <li>Numerous Training and Professional Development opportunities</li>\n <li>Wellness Program & Fitness Program Reimbursement  </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>MBP is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected status or characteristic.
