Description

Lead Auditor Department: BED Location: Juneau Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Pay Grade(s): 7-9 ($25.26 - $39.86/hour DOE) Purpose: The Lead Auditor is responsible for performing audit and reconciliation functions to support accurate financial reporting, accountability, and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. This position reviews financial and operational records, reconciles assigned accounts and transactions, and assists with monitoring internal controls and cash handling procedures. The Lead Auditor supports efficient operations by maintaining accurate documentation, identifying discrepancies, and promoting compliance with established processes and standards. This position may initially begin as part-time with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on operational needs. Essential Functions. An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation: · Perform daily audit and reconciliation activities for assigned operational and revenue areas. · Audit, reconcile, and balance assigned accounts, reports, and supporting documentation. · Review financial transactions, cash handling records, and related operational documentation for accuracy and compliance. · Prepare audit reports and supporting documentation for accounting and operational review. · Monitor compliance with internal controls, organizational procedures, and applicable regulations. · Identify discrepancies, variances, or process concerns and report findings appropriately. · Maintain accurate and organized audit records and documentation. · Provide support and guidance to departments regarding audit procedures, documentation standards, and cash handling practices. · Maintain confidentiality of financial, operational, employee, and organizational information. · Maintain professionalism and positive working relationships with employees, vendors, external partners, and the public. · Comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. · Perform other duties as assigned.
