JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Surveillance Supervisor
Department: Surveillance
Employment Classification: Non-Exempt
Position Summary/General Description:
A Surveillance Supervisor oversees and is responsible for all administrative functions in the Surveillance Department where audio and video equipment is used to observe and report illegal activity and non-compliance of regulations, policies and procedures.

Adhere to Laguna Development Corporation (LDC) Core Values, Policies & Procedures. Act as a role model within and outside the corporation. Maintain a positive and respectful attitude toward customers and co-workers. Consistently report to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain in-depth knowledge of and ensure that all Surveillance personnel adhere to Surveillance Policy and Procedures as well surveillance regulations for proper security in accordance with the Pueblo of Laguna Gaming Control Board/Tribal Gaming Regulatory Authority, the federal government and State of New Mexico. Assign work schedules and evaluate employee progress/performance. Oversee training and development programs for staff. Ensure administrative functions of the Surveillance Department and shifts are maintained. Evaluate and make expert recommendation of other department (e.g., legitimacy of gaming and money-handling integrity). Review, investigate and report on any illegal activities. Maintain and use video/audio surveillance equipment to monitor gaming activities using multiple monitors. Maintain surveillance over monetary transactions and stations. Document monetary transactions for procedural inconsistencies. Prepare and maintain an official log of departmental activities. Maintain radio contact with security personnel, casino managers and other surveillance personnel as assigned. Work within and adhere to and contribute to an established operational chain of command. Investigate and compile reports of incidents for future documentation. Evaluate existing gaming policies, procedures and systems to make improvement recommendations while maintaining confidentiality. Follow instructions. Perform basic mathematical problems quickly and accurately. Maintain alertness to things they are monitoring constantly changing. Make quick decisions under stressful conditions. Draft written reports and other documentation; create and convey quality Surveillance reports to the appropriate areas. Visually observe and discern screen images and make recommendations. Review and make changes to existing procedures or policies as necessary. Maintain strict confidentiality of duties, reports, investigations and any other job-related information at all times. Actively participate in Supervisory Development Leadership Series (SDLS) yearly. Be a team player (e.g., work toward team goals and foster a collaborative and positive work environment; put the team first; assist coworkers; treat all coworkers with kindness, courtesy and respect; never engage in negativity; maintain openness to coaching, learning and improving; receptive to change and willingness to embrace challenges with team-spirit). At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors). Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd and unusual hours, weekends and holidays. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED preferred. 0–1-year relevant experience and demonstrated ability to lead. Must have three years’ experience as a Surveillance Officer or Gaming Supervisor. Strong Gaming or Law Enforcement background preferred. Familiar with surveillance methods and procedures preferred.
Licensing & Certification:
None.
Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery:
Proficient in basic computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Essential Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to sit, talk and repetitively use hands 51-100% of the time. Requires the ability to hear and stand 25-50% of the time. Requires the ability to balance/climb, bend over, crawl, crouch/stoop, drive, kneel, reach overhead, turn/twist and walk 1-24% of the time. Requires the ability to push/pull, carry, lift and transfer/slide 1-50 lbs. 1-24% of the time.
Essential Mental Demands:
Requires the ability to solve problems, organize, plan, make decisions, interpret data, read and write 51-100% of the time.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Train, discipline, schedule, apportion work among employees, direct (determine work techniques, equipment and materials), appraise productivity and measure performance. Work Environment (inside/outside):
The job is performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to hot and cold temperatures and within confined areas.
Other Requirements:
Obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Pueblo of Laguna’s Gaming Control Board and must provide/maintain a valid New Mexico drivers’ license. Must comply with LDC and the Federal Government Bank Secrecy Act by acquiring and/or maintaining a Title 31 Certification. Must attend and pass surveillance training classes and courses. Must obtain and maintain lift operating license. Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.
