    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p><strong>FLSA</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>Classification:</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong>Non-exempt,&nbsp;academic-year&nbsp;(10-month)&nbsp;position</p><p><strong>Reports To:&nbsp;</strong>Elementary Director</p><p><strong>Hours:&nbsp;</strong>8:00 a.m.&ndash;4:00 p.m.</p><p><strong>Start Date:</strong> Beginning of the 2026&ndash;2027 School Year (Fall 2026)</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>Description of Position:</strong></p><p>The Elementary Associate Teacher position serves the students of Post Oak by providing an</p><p>additional trained adult to support the development of the child in the Montessori environment</p><p>through preparation of the environment, presentation of activities, modeling grace and courtesy,</p><p>observation, assistance with follow-up work, and communication with families. The position</p><p>provides an opportunity for a Montessori trained adult to work side by side with the lead guide, and</p><p>take on additional responsibilities that will hone their skills and further their preparation as a</p><p>Montessori guide.</p><p><strong>Roles and responsibilities:</strong></p><p>At the discretion of the coordinating lead guide, the Elementary Associate Teacher may be</p><p>asked to perform the following duties:</p><p>● Prepare the environment for the children at the beginning or end of the day</p><p>● Make materials for the classroom</p><p>● Give children Montessori presentations&nbsp;</p><p>● Observe the work of the children and provide feedback and support as needed</p><p>● Timely recording of attendance, presentations and progress in Transparent Classroom</p><p>● Observe student social/emotional development and model grace and courtesy</p><p>● Take over duties of the lead guide in her absence</p><p>● In careful coordination with the lead guide, participate in communication with parents</p><p>regarding child development and progress</p><p>○ Responding to emails</p><p>○ Participation at parent teacher conferences</p><p>○ Helping with preparation of progress reports/comments if requested</p><p>○ Work with Division Director and Admissions Team to facilitate student interviews</p><p>● Attend parent events alongside lead guide as requested:</p><p>○ Classroom orientations</p><p>○ POPA Dinner</p><p>○ Family Fun Day</p><p>○ Additional classroom or Primary community events</p><p>● Attend monthly faculty meetings</p><p>● Meet with lead guide weekly to offer/share feedback and maintain open communication</p><p>● Continue educational development</p><p>○ Attend educational opportunities (e.g., Montessori conferences, social thinking training)</p><p><strong>Criteria for Consideration:</strong></p><p>a) The candidate has completed a Montessori Teacher training course and exams and has a diploma;</p><p>b) The lead teacher would like to have the associate teacher fulfilling this role in their</p><p>classroom, that is, they see the benefit to the children and environment and they are</p><p>willing to support the professional growth of the associate teacher by handing over</p><p>these responsibilities;</p><p>c) The associate accepts the additional responsibilities and is in a position to fulfill all the</p><p>duties of this job.</p><p><strong>Process:</strong></p><p>Employee candidates may interview for this position with the Elementary Director and the Head</p><p>of School.</p><p><strong>Clarification:</strong></p><p>Fulfilling the position of Associate Teacher is not a guarantee of being offered the next available</p><p>lead teacher position.
