    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong><br>As a Peer Specialist with Chelton Loft, you’ll be part of a small, dedicated team working with people living with mental illness. You’ll develop and coordinate opportunities for friendship, employment, housing, education, and access to medical and psychiatric services in a single, caring, and safe clubhouse environment.</p><p>&nbsp;Clubhouse members and staff equally participate in identifying and empowering members' strengths, skills, and interests. The staff offers a positive, supportive relationship that helps to build members' self-esteem and encourages working toward identified goals, wellness, and recovery.</p><p><strong>Your Responsibilities Will Include:</strong><br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Helping plan and carry out daily activities and projects with members.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Encouraging members to develop leadership and work-readiness skills. &nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Supporting members with goal-setting and skill-building. &nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Participating in the Clubhouse's Transitional Employment (TE) Program, including helping members find jobs, training them, and stepping in to cover job shifts when needed.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Attending community events and meetings to promote Chelton Loft and learn from other Clubhouses. &nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Leading or supporting projects and strategic planning efforts with staff and members.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Covering social and recreational activities on evenings, weekends, and holidays (on a rotating basis).<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Modeling and supporting healthy communication between members and service providers. &nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Helping onboard and train new members, staff, interns, and volunteers.</p><p><strong>You Would Be a Great Fit If You:&nbsp;</strong><br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Are a New York State Certified Peer Specialist and identify as someone with lived experience of mental health recovery.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Have a bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, rehabilitation, or a related field, OR equivalent experience and at least 2 years of experience in human services.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Have worked in a Psychosocial Clubhouse or mental health support program (preferred).<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Understand the needs of individuals impacted by the criminal legal system (a plus). &nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Are flexible, empathetic, and committed to rehabilitation and recovery.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Are Bilingual in Spanish (a plus).&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Have strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Are computer proficient, especially with Microsoft Office and databases.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Can work with diverse populations and remain calm in emotional situations.</p><p><strong>Compensation</strong></p><ul><li>$25.00 to $26.90 per hour</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Equal Opportunity Employer</strong><br>&nbsp;</p>",
