Combining our deep technical expertise with the capabilities of our clients and partners, we respond to some of the most complex challenges facing our planet today.</p><p><strong>Who are we looking for?&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p><p>GHD has a great opportunity for an <strong>Environmental Technician</strong>&nbsp;to work with our Contaminated Assessment Remediation (CAR) group based out of our St. Paul, Minnesota office. This position is an integral part of our environmental services group and requires a diverse&nbsp;array of responsibilities and tasks to accomplish the objectives of the team. In this role you will perform a number of routine tasks following set procedures in the field of Environmental Science.&nbsp;Some problem-solving ability and mechanical aptitude are required.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:</strong></p><ul><li>Monitoring:&nbsp;Perform a wide variety of field duties for environmental projects including inspection, monitoring, operation, and maintenance of remediation/mitigation systems, water level measurement, and contractor oversight.</li><li>Environmental Sampling:&nbsp;Conduct sampling and monitoring for various media and constituents of concern by following established procedures.&nbsp;</li><li>Fieldwork:&nbsp;Travel to perform field work at project sites (approximately 90% field, 10% office). Overnight travel is expected up to 50% of the time, while other project sites are local. There are opportunities for regional travel or to support environmental emergencies/emergency responses (ER). Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reside near our St. Paul, Minnesota office.&nbsp;</li><li>Health, Safety, and Environment:&nbsp;Follow a range of mandatory work instructions (including&nbsp;use&nbsp;of&nbsp;personal&nbsp;protection&nbsp;equipment&nbsp;where&nbsp;relevant)&nbsp;to&nbsp;safeguard&nbsp;the environment and the well-being of self and others.</li><li>Data&nbsp;Collection&nbsp;and&nbsp;Analysis:&nbsp;Perform&nbsp;basic&nbsp;data&nbsp;entry&nbsp;tasks,&nbsp;including&nbsp;data&nbsp;verification.&nbsp;</li><li>Technical Troubleshooting:&nbsp;Perform basic tasks in technical troubleshooting, such as identifying evident technical issues with equipment and assisting in basic diagnostic actions.</li><li>Improvement/Innovation:&nbsp;Accept&nbsp;changes&nbsp;at&nbsp;work&nbsp;and&nbsp;provide&nbsp;support&nbsp;when&nbsp;asked.</li><li>Performance Management:&nbsp;Complete allocated work to the required standards of quality&nbsp;and&nbsp;timeliness;&nbsp;use&nbsp;performance&nbsp;management&nbsp;systems&nbsp;to&nbsp;improve&nbsp;personal performance.</li></ul><p><strong>What you will bring to the team:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude</li><li>Candidate must live within one-hour drive time from GHD's St. Paul office or willing to relocate&nbsp;</li><li>Must have a valid driver’s license and&nbsp;a clean driving record</li><li>OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER is a plus&nbsp;</li><li>Commitment to safety utilizing a behavior-based safety culture in all aspects of the job&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to work extended hours and travel out of town</li><li>Physically capable of working in non-ideal conditions, such as hot/cold temperatures, wet weather, outside, and around loud equipment, traversing rough terrains, and ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.</li><li>Ability to be a self-starter, flexible, team player, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks with minimal supervision in a drug-free workplace</li><li>Ability to analyze field readings, data, and operating parameters to optimize system operations&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Education</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent</li></ul><p><strong>Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Sound&nbsp;experience&nbsp;and&nbsp;understanding&nbsp;of&nbsp;mechanical and/or electrical systems</li></ul><p>Salary: $23.32 - $37.02/hour, varies based on experience and location.</p><p>#LI-JS1</p><p><strong>As a multicultural organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
