Description FLSA Status: Exempt | Classification: Administration | Reports To: President Location: Senatobia Campus (District-Wide Responsibility) POSITION SUMMARY The Vice President of Instruction serves as the College’s Learning Advisor and is responsible for the leadership, planning, coordination, and evaluation of all instructional programs and services. This position provides college-wide oversight of academic transfer, career-technical education, health sciences, workforce training, dual enrollment, eLearning, and institutional research & effectiveness. The Vice President ensures instructional excellence, student success, and alignment with workforce and economic development needs. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Requirements: Degrees: PhD, EdD or terminal degree is required. Administrative Leadership: 5–8 years of demonstrated leadership experience. College-level teaching experience (full-or part-time) required. Experience in curriculum development, accreditation, and/or program assessment. Demonstrated leadership in budget management and institutional planning. Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills. Commitment to student success and workforce alignment. Is Humble, Hungry, and Smart. Preferred: Higher education leadership experience. Experience with workforce development, WIOA, and dual enrollment. Knowledge of the Mississippi community college system . ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides strategic leadership for all instructional programs in alignment with the College’s mission and goals. Coordinates college-wide instructional policies and ensures compliance with institutional, state, and accreditation standards. Leads curriculum development, program review, and continuous improvement across all instructional areas. Supervises and supports deans, faculty, instructional administrators, and instructional support services. Provides system-wide coordination of instructional support functions and academic operations. Recommends employment, evaluation, and development of instructional and instructional support personnel. Develops and manages instructional budgets; assists with institutional budget planning. Coordinates class scheduling and faculty assignments for all credit and non-credit course offerings. Oversees development and maintenance of curriculum, syllabi, catalog, and instructional publications. Leads academic governance structures including curriculum committees and instructional councils. Establishes and monitors short- and long-range instructional goals; reports progress to the President. Serves as institutional lead for accreditation, institutional effectiveness, and assessment. Leads development of new academic and workforce programs aligned with regional needs. Advances innovation in teaching, learning, and instructional delivery methods. Understands AACC’s “Resilient by Design: The Future of America’s Community Colleges,” and “Strategic Compass 2035” frameworks. Provides oversight for key areas: Academic & Career-Technical Instruction Health Sciences Instruction eLearning / Distance Education Dual Enrollment Workforce Training & WIOA Programs Institutional Research & Effectiveness Performs other duties as assigned by the College President. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides leadership and oversight for academic, career-technical, and health science divisions, workforce programs, and institutional research & effectiveness. Establishes expectations, monitors performance, and ensures alignment with institutional priorities. WORK ENVIRONMENT Standard office and campus environment with district-wide engagement.
