This role partners closely with plant leadership, operations, engineering, and supply chain to ensure accurate product costing, margin analysis, and financial visibility across the business. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting skills with a proactive, operational mindset and the ability to thrive in a multi-facility manufacturing environment.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong><u>WHAT YOU’LL DO</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Financial Reporting & Close Process</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for assigned plants</li>\n <li>Prepare accurate financial statements and supporting schedules</li>\n <li>Analyze variances versus budget, forecast, and prior year</li>\n <li>Prepare management reporting packages with clear commentary on performance drivers</li>\n <li>Coordinate year-end reporting requirements and support external audit processes</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Cost Accounting & Operational Partnership</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform detailed product costing and margin analysis</li>\n <li>Analyze labor, material, and overhead variances</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Budgeting & Forecasting</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes</li>\n <li>Collaborate with plant leadership to model cost drivers and volume assumptions</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Internal Controls & Compliance</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain and strengthen internal control structure across plant operations</li>\n <li>Monitor expense activity and ensure proper accruals and cut-off procedures</li>\n <li>Safeguard company assets through inventory oversight and reconciliation</li>\n <li>Assist with physical inventory observation at year end</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Systems & Process Improvement</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Utilize ERP system (JDE or similar) to drive reporting accuracy</li>\n <li>Leverage advanced Excel skills to improve reporting efficiency</li>\n <li>Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance financial visibility within PowerBI</li>\n <li>Support continuous improvement initiatives across the accounting function</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required). </li>\n <li>Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or public accounting\n  <ul>\n   <li>CPA preferred but not required</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Skills: Strong understanding of cost accounting principles\n  <ul>\n   <li>Experience with ERP systems (JDE preferred)</li>\n   <li>Advanced Excel proficiency</li>\n   <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>\n   <li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Travel: Willingness to travel 10–15% domestically</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Office and plant environment.</li>\n <li>Keyboarding, lifting, standing, bending, walking.</li>\n <li>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>ABOUT GREAT DANE</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>With a history dating back to 1900, Great Dane has established itself as a transportation solutions leader of today – delivering innovative products and exceptional services that help our customers and employees succeed.
