Description

We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Staff Chemical/Civil/Environmental Engineer 1 to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Phoenix, AZ office. This position includes frequent travel to project sites and field work outside the office. Field responsibilities may include site and subsurface characterization, environmental sampling, construction observation, operation maintenance of remediation systems , and documentation of contractor activities. Office support may include permitting and compliance related to air, water, and soil, and due-diligence evaluations. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES In this position, you will: Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by performing work in accordance with Haley Aldrich and client health and safety protocols. Collect, synthesize, and analyze data using industry-standard procedures. Conduct due diligence assessments and environmental compliance audits. Perform field sampling activities related to soil, groundwater, ambient air, and vapor intrusion investigations. Prepare environmental permit applications and plans related to air quality, stormwater, spill prevention, control, and countermeasure (SPCC), land reclamation, aquifer protection, and industrial discharge. Assist with the operation and maintenance of groundwater remediation systems. Support studies that evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of remedial alternatives for site cleanup. Draft technical sections of project communications and reports. Assist with technical scopes of work and cost estimates for small to medium-sized project opportunities. Prepare documentation of subcontractor activities, including daily field reports and tracking spreadsheets. Prepare bid packages and solicit bids from subcontractors and vendors. Proactively manage assigned tasks to support project delivery on schedule, within budget, and consistent with client-agreed quality standards. Provide assistant project management support, including support with proposal writing and routine invoice review. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Minimum Skills and Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. 0-2 years of related engineering experience. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification strongly preferred, or ability to obtain within six months. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software. Ability and interest in obtaining professional engineering registration. Ability to travel to temporary assignments across the United States. Valid driver’s license. Reliable transportation to travel to project sites and the office. Ability to troubleshoot and manage mechanical parts and equipment independently in the field. Ability to comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior outlined in the Haley Aldrich Company Charter. Ability to comply with Haley Aldrich and client health and safety protocols. Preferred Skills: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred but not required.
