This is an interesting opportunity to work within a small team alongside the Software Analyst and Developer and work in a collaborative setting to deliver software projects to the firm’s end users. You will help drive efficiencies and deliver user friendly applications to Lawyers and support staff. <br>  <br> You will be involved at all stages of projects including gathering requirements, designing the solution, designing screens and reports, coding scripts and documents in line with the firm’s style and branding.  You will also be involved in the production of documentation and training materials, along with supporting users during and after go-live.<br>  <br> <strong>The Day to Day: </strong><br><ul><li>Coding application documents to autofill from database. </li><li>Checking daily automated processes have completed without issue. </li><li>Testing any new scripts or workflows created. </li><li>Assist with development of scripts and workflows.</li><li>Producing technical documentation including Visio workflow drawings, technical descriptions and release notes. </li><li>Producing end-user documentation, videos or other training materials. </li><li>Handling helpdesk requests. </li><li>Training end-users in-person, via webinar or by producing video guides.</li><li>Work with vendors to resolve system issues. </li><li>Other Ad hoc duties as required. </li></ul> <br> <strong>WHAT EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?</strong><br> <br> Ideally you would have some experience working in a software development environment and understand the development cycle, however we are happy to train the right candidate who has a keen interest in software and coding.<br><br> Knowledge of developing applications using: Python, Microsoft Power Platform, Visual C# and JSON are desirable but not essential.<br>  <br> <strong>WHAT SKILLS SHOULD I HAVE?</strong><br>  <br> <strong>Client Focused</strong>: Our clients are the users of the IT systems within the firm.  We aim to deliver outstanding service to our clients, and the successful applicant will be the primary point of contact for our clients. <br>  <br> <strong>Problem-solving:</strong> Ability to analyse requirements, provide a solution and to debug software is required to succeed in this role.  You will also need to resolve helpdesk tickets.<br>  <br> <strong>Communication:</strong> Communicates effectively and appropriately.  Speaks and writes clearly and credibly.   Actively listen to others.  Ability to present information to technical and non-technical persons, both across the firm and with outside vendors as required.  Confident to escalate issues to senior IT team members.  <br> <strong> </strong><br> <strong>Team Working:</strong> Ability to work well both as part of a team and independently.<br>  <br> <br> <strong>WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?</strong><br><br><ul><li>A supportive, relaxed and flexible work environment.</li><li>28 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays</li><li>Medicash cash back schemes after 1 years’ service</li><li>Life Insurance</li><li>EAP and various other physical and mental wellbeing support services including virtual GP access 24/7</li><li>Family friendly policies such as enhanced maternity and paternity pay plus, family events leave</li><li>Company sick pay</li><li>Cycle scheme</li></ul>                                                                                                                       <br>  At Holmes & Hills we are proud to have a culture of sharing, collaboration and mutual respect.
