GFT is seeking an experienced Area Leader for Water Group to join our Team in Dallas, TX ! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Dallas, TX Office. Joining the water resources team at GFT means contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. What you’ll be challenged to do: As a Senior Project Manager – Area Leader you will leverage your technical and management expertise to plan, design, and construct water/wastewater infrastructure within a dynamic team environment, while also mentoring junior staff, both in office and remotely. You will provide business development and project management leadership, guiding integrated teams to meet client requirements related to scope, schedule, budget, and quality. At the same time, you will focus on developing and strengthening business relationships and long-term marketing strategies targeting the water sector inclusive of water resources, water/wastewater, geotechnical, dams & hydraulics structures and environmental. As Area Leader, you will leverage your technical and market expertise to provide oversight on medium and large projects/programs at various stages, from conception through construction. Other responsibilities will include: Participating in and leading project teams in the planning, design, and construction administration of municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure facilities. Engaging in client interactions, delivering presentations, and coordinating project activities. Coordinating work activities of technical staff and consultants, including developing and implementing study and design standards, leading progress meetings, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, and tracking project schedules and budgets. Collaborating with and communicating effectively with various municipalities and governmental regulatory agencies. Overseeing construction contract management and observation services. Preparing technical reports and permit applications. Supervising and mentoring junior-level engineers to support their professional growth. Demonstrating professional technical writing and verbal communication skills. Grow the business across strategic markets, focusing on our competencies, promoting services and expertise in the Gannett Fleming portfolio. Support strategic planning and annual business planning process. Identify potential clients and lead initiatives for enhanced business development performance and efficiencies for continued growth. Perform on-going market research and analysis to access potential client needs and objectives. Lead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities that would benefit from the full spectrum of Gannett Fleming’s architecture and engineering consulting solutions Develop a deep understanding of the client requirements in order to create customer-specific capture strategies, structure and build pursuit teams; and oversight of proposal development process. Function as a Client Manager by taking responsibility for client service and project delivery in addition to management responsibilities. Coordinate the alignment of internal resources to the needs of our clients and the achievement of goals Manage and develop multidiscipline teams. Assist in development of annual strategic planning effort Work closely with client development leadership to observe trends, adjust projections and make required alterations to plan in an effort to achieve year over year goals and cost management targets. Support the tactical implementation of the Strategic Plan by advancing our top line pursuits in close partnership with regional, market sector, alternative delivery, and professional services leadership Attend industry conferences to develop and nurture client and strategic partner relationships What you will bring to our firm: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the AEC industry specifically focused on water resources, water/wastewater, geotechnical, environmental planning/management, dams and hydraulic structures. Must have proven marketing and business development skills in addition to contacts/relationships with municipal, regional and federal clients. Registered Professional Engineer in Texas is REQUIRED Effective communicator, skilled at building consensus and creating a collaborative employee and client centric focus in day to day operations. Demonstrated team building capabilities and experience with leading diverse teams. Previous experience managing staff, clients, contracts and hiring staff for an engineering consulting firm. Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to continue to grow the area’s water business team. Compensation: The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $210,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
