Under the direction and delegation of the RN and clinician, the ED/UC Tech delivers high-quality, patient-centered care, supports emergency and routine clinical activities, and promotes efficient patient flow. Acting as a patient advocate, the ED/UC Tech collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while performing delegated clinical and non-clinical duties within the defined scope of practice.</p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Successful completion of Certified Medical Assistant program, Certified Nursing Assistant Program or EMT program</li><li>Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification</li><li>Basic keyboarding and computer skills</li></ul><p><strong>Responsibilities include:</strong></p><p><strong>Patient Care &amp; Observation</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Perform patient observation and delegated patient care activities in accordance with standards of care</li><li>Obtain, perform, and document vital signs, blood glucose checks, and other point-of-care measurements in a timely manner</li><li>Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, ambulation, positioning, and transfers</li><li>Promptly report abnormal vital signs, blood sugars, observations, or patient concerns to the delegating RN and/or clinician</li><li>Provide comfort measures and respond to patient needs respectfully and efficiently</li></ul><p><strong>Clinical &amp; Procedural Support</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Assist RNs and providers with bedside procedures</li><li>Perform basic procedures within scope of practice and training, including:<ul type=\"circle\"><li>Peripheral IV insertion</li><li>Blood draws</li><li>Electrocardiograms (EKGs)</li><li>Foley catheter insertion and catheter care</li></ul></li><li>Prepare patients, rooms, and equipment for procedures and examinations</li><li>Participate in trauma activations, emergency responses, mock codes, and resuscitation efforts as trained</li><li>Serve as a member of the Decontamination Team</li><li>Assist with patient transport, including preparation for air transfer when required</li></ul><p><strong>Interdisciplinary Care &amp; Coordination</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Participate in the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients</li><li>Collaborate with nursing staff, clinicians, and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care</li><li>Monitor and interact with patient service departments to support continuity of care</li><li>Advocate for patient safety, dignity, and rights in accordance with hospital policy</li></ul><p><strong>Patient Flow, Clerical &amp; Department Support</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Perform clerical duties, including admission, discharge, transfer paperwork, and phone communication</li><li>Schedule patients for appropriate follow up appointments within EMR</li><li>Ensure all documentation, paperwork, and charges are accurate and complete</li><li>Transport patients safely within the facility or to ancillary departments</li><li>Clean patient rooms, change linens, and ensure rooms are ready for incoming patients</li><li>Stock carts, supply rooms, and patient care areas;
