Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities for this Position</h2>\n<p>General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Senior Systems Engineer for Restricted Ground Systems.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:</strong></p>\n<p>As an Senior Systems Engineer for Restricted Ground Systems, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and integrating critical Ground Systems sites for our customers. </p>\n<p>We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: </p>\n<p>Systems Engineering, Software and Hardware Development, Modem, Antenna Systems, Troubleshooting.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration and test (verification), validation and interface definition studies of subsystem or system elements under supervision of the lead systems engineer</li>\n <li>Performs technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for subsystems and system elements</li>\n <li>Performs customer requirements analysis, develops system requirements and defines allocations to lower levels (elements and components)</li>\n <li>Performs detailed technical analyses for a subsystem or system elements</li>\n <li>Develops and evaluates systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specifications</li>\n <li>May provide system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features (e.g., identification, authentication, access control, labeling, and auditing) of the system are considered and function properly</li>\n <li>May develop system security documentation on both new and fielded information systems</li>\n <li>Participates in Modeling and Simulation</li>\n <li>Researches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application</li>\n <li>Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle</li>\n <li>May provide leadership and/or direction to lower level employees</li>\n <li>Independently determines proposed approach to solutions</li>\n <li>Contributes to the completion of major programs and projects</li>\n <li>Plans and executes project tasks for activities described above</li>\n <li>Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills</li>\n <li>Defines processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility</li>\n <li>Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions</li>\n <li>Designs a complete and complex framework, system or product</li>\n <li>Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses</li>\n <li>Regular contact with senior levels of internal work groups</li>\n <li>Works under limited direction</li>\n <li>Contact with Deputy Program Managers Engineering (DPME) and other professionals within the</li>\n <li>Engineering department and with project teams across the company</li>\n <li>Frequent contact with external customers</li>\n <li>Limited Travel may be required</li>\n <li>Provides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems</li>\n <li>Independently determines approach to solutions</li>\n <li>Keeps abreast of technology trends</li>\n <li>Contributes to the achievement of business objectives</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Coordinating external interfaces and ICDs</li>\n <li>Multi-level security domain expertise (and cross-domain)</li>\n <li>Quickly (with a more agile light-weight approach) decomposing requirements to a level that can avoid requirements bloat (and communicate/track impacts)</li>\n <li>Someone that can understand what is in scope and what is out of scope and manage that complexity</li>\n <li>People with agile program experience</li>\n <li>Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous
