    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>JOB PURPOSE: </strong>The Trades Instructor will provide job and safety training, demonstrate proper workplace procedures and standards in a classroom setting and/or in regular operating conditions in the workplace, and prepare students to become skilled in their trade while providing a safe, constructive, and positive learning environment.</p>\n<p><strong>JOB SUMMARY: </strong>The Trades Instructor will educate students using Apex curriculum to become proficient in their trade. The Trades Instructor is responsible for delivering and facilitating a prescribed curriculum through a combination of in-class/virtual theory-based instruction and hands-on demonstration/application of skilled trades. The Trades Instructor will prepare and educate students to assume entry level positions within their respective trade.</p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Instruct students in theory and hands-on curriculum in a classroom environment within the subject of skilled trades.</li>\n <li>Determines the best method to deliver needed training and course instruction; prepares materials, locations, and supplies accordingly.</li>\n <li>Explains and demonstrates jobs and tasks to be performed.</li>\n <li>Explains, demonstrates, and emphasizes all safety aspects of jobs and tasks; reviews any applicable job safety analysis with each student.</li>\n <li>Schedules, organizes, and provides supplemental training when necessary.</li>\n <li>Conducts refresher training and make-up sessions when necessary.</li>\n <li>Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.</li>\n <li>Guides, assigns, schedules, and supervises the work of students; ensures work is completed on in accordance with assigned curriculum.</li>\n <li>Ensures each assigned student follows all safety standards.</li>\n <li>Provides student evaluations based on performance and goals set by Apex curriculum in a timely and constructive manner.</li>\n <li>Compile accurate attendance records and grade entries and ensure they are maintained and submitted timely per state and accrediting standards.</li>\n <li>Ensures each assigned student follows all established rules and meets expectations for appropriate conduct within the school.</li>\n <li>Participate and successfully complete all professional development sessions as required by accrediting and state standards.</li>\n <li>Participate in all individual career development sessions as required.</li>\n <li>Maintain trades licenses as needed per state and accrediting standards.</li>\n <li>Functions as an ambassador and liaison for Apex Technical School.</li>\n <li>Contributes to organization success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improve team results.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>NOTE</strong> :The employer reserves the right to change or assign other duties to this position.</p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS: </strong>Job qualifications are stated in the Essential Functions of the job description. Other special requirements are noted below:</p>\n<p>Education: High School Diploma or equivalent</p>\n<p>Equipment Skills: · Thorough understanding of the correct and safe operation of all manually operated and power related tools and equipment. · Use of safety equipment/apparel.</p>\n<p>Job Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the trade(s)</p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, &amp; Abilities:</strong></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain good safety practice throughout the workday</li>\n <li>Conduct and effectively manage daily workload</li>\n <li>Interpret and layout projects according to specifications</li>\n <li>Manage and organize training resources effectively</li>\n <li>Knows the fundamentals of different welding techniques</li>\n <li>Evaluate and conduct tests to determine the soundness/quality of welds</li>\n <li>Maintain good recordkeeping</li>\n <li>Basic understanding of theoretic principles and practical application of respective trade concepts and skills.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Oral, written, and presentation communication skills.</li>\n <li>Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, supervisors, and students.</li>\n <li>Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to teach and work with a diverse student population with varying skills and abilities.</li>\n <li>Ability to establish a safe and comfortable learning environment.</li>\n <li>Effective communication of complex ideas and concepts to students.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team.</li>\n <li>Ability to objectively evaluate and grade student performance against established standards as prescribed by Apex and accrediting entities.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>",
