    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>AmTrust Financial is seeking an innovative Senior Actuarial Analyst to drive strategic pricing and advanced research projects within our Programs group, offering cutting-edge opportunities to develop sophisticated actuarial methodologies. Candidates with expertise in commercial lines pricing will be ideal.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>AmTrust is an innovative, customer-centric organization. We are looking for someone who will add skillsets to our team in driving results. Ideally, this person will have experience making creative methodology changes, driving a process to a conclusion while meeting critical deadlines and/or independently improving team workflow.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position will require hybrid attendance in our New York, NY or Southington, CT offices.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Independently analyze segments of commercial lines for profitability and trends</li>\n <li>Work closely with Underwriting, IT and Compliance departments</li>\n <li>Provide formal written communication and documentation of analyses</li>\n <li>Actively participate in discussions where recommendations are presented to the business. Monitor changes agreed to in the meetings via actively maintained data visualization dashboards.</li>\n <li>Work on actuarial research projects regarding pricing and planning</li>\n <li>Serve as a subject matter expert on pricing and rate development</li>\n <li>Complete state filings, including pulling together rate impacts, state exhibits and answering objections</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, or financial related field preferred</li>\n <li>Three to five years of actuarial experience</li>\n <li>Actively pursuing exams</li>\n <li>Understanding of insurance, underwriting, pricing, reinsurance, sales, and financials</li>\n <li>Ability to critically problem solve and use business knowledge in developing solutions</li>\n <li>Superior written and verbal communication skills</li>\n <li>Advanced proficiency in statistical programming languages including R, SQL, Python, and SAS, with demonstrated ability to develop complex analytical solutions and drive data-driven decision-making</li>\n <li>Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel</li>\n <li>Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and with diverse skillsets</li>\n</ul>\n<p>This job description is designed to provide a general overview of the requirements of the job and does not entail a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities that will be required in this position.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>The expected salary range for this role is $100K-140K/year. </em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
