    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 24pt\">Corporate Controller - Construction Accounting</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt\">Job Overview</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Red Cedar Construction Services is seeking an experienced <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Corporate Controller</span> to join our finance and accounting leadership team. This role will oversee, coordinate, and supervise accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, job costing, and administrative finance functions across a fast-paced construction and project-based business environment.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">The Corporate Controller will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and executive leadership to maintain accurate financial records, manage month-end and year-end close processes, support forecasting and budgeting, and help establish scalable financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. This position plays a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, cost control, and compliance as the company continues to grow.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, a solid understanding of GAAP, proven leadership experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume construction environment. Experience in construction accounting, homebuilding, general contracting, build-to-rent, multifamily construction, job costing, work-in-progress reporting, and project-based accounting is highly preferred. This role requires comfort working with executive leadership, accounting staff, operations teams, project managers, vendors, banking partners, auditors, and external stakeholders.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">We are also looking for someone who is process-minded and technology-forward, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency through better systems, automation, AI tools, reporting enhancements, and workflow improvements. Experience with <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QuickBooks Enterprise</span>, construction accounting systems, Smartsheet, BuildPro, Brixx, or similar platforms is strongly preferred.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt\">Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Direct and supervise accounting staff to ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies and procedures.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of financial statements and supporting schedules.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Prepare and/or oversee monthly financial reports, including budget-to-actual analysis, project cost reporting, cash flow reporting, work-in-progress reporting, and management review packages.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Work closely with the CFO and executive leadership to update business plans, budgets, forecasts, and financial models.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Establish, implement, and improve financial processes, policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting systems.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Support accounting operations for construction, build-to-rent, multifamily, residential construction, and related project-based business activities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, vendor payments, bill pay processes, and expense controls.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Manage and review job cost accounting, project cost tracking, work-in-progress reporting, pay applications, draws, change orders, and revenue recognition processes, as applicable.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Ensure accurate coding, classification, and allocation of costs across jobs, cost centers, departments, projects, and entities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Review project profitability, margin trends, cost variances, committed costs, over/under billings, and other construction accounting metrics.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Facilitate workflow between shared services, accounting, operations, project management, and executive leadership.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Coordinate internal and external audit requests and support tax, banking, insurance, and compliance-related reporting.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Oversee treasury management, bank reconciliations, debt reporting, cash management, and cash flow planning processes.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Support financial strategy, including risk management, cost controls, margin analysis, process improvements, and operational efficiency initiatives.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Provide high-level financial reporting, analysis, and recommendations to leadership.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Ensure compliance with applicable statutory, tax, accounting, and financial regulations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Partner with leadership to improve reporting visibility, strengthen controls, and support data-driven decision-making.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Manage accounting activity across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, intercompany alignment, and timely reporting.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows through improved systems, automation, AI tools, reporting templates, and technology-driven process improvements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Manage, mentor, train, and develop accounting and finance team members.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Delegate work based on employee abilities, skills, workload, and business priorities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Identify opportunities for team growth, training, cross-training, and process improvement.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif\">Perform other duties as assigned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif;
