Description

The ATM didn't just move cash out of bank branches. It decoupled the bank from the banker — and for the first time, customers could access their money without asking permission from a human. That was 1967. Every decade since has been another layer of abstraction: online banking* removed the branch, mobile removed the desktop, and now AI is removing the interface entirely. The next generation of financial software won't be apps people log into — it'll be agents, automations, and workflows that access financial infrastructure directly. At Mercury, we're building for that world. Our API products (e.g. CLI, MCP, and more) are how developers wire Mercury into whatever they're building — and we're looking for a PMM who can help them see what's possible. We’re looking for a Product Marketing Manager who can help us tell our API and AI banking story and grow adoption with new and existing customers. *Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services provided through Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC. What you’ll do: : Own GTM strategy for Mercury's platform products — API, CLI, and MCP — including ICP definition, messaging & positioning, and end-to-end launch planning and execution. Build Mercury's presence in the developer and AI-builder ecosystem: developer communities, technical content, docs-as-marketing, GitHub, Discord, Hacker News, and beyond. Develop deep customer and market insights through qualitative and quantitative research and competitive intelligence — and use them to shape product, growth, and roadmap decisions. Drive acquisition and adoption by designing and executing multi-channel marketing programs and growth experiments in partnership with product, engineering, and creative teams. Champion the voice of developers and AI builders across the organization, ensuring their needs meaningfully influence product development and prioritization. Measure, analyze, and optimize performance to refine GTM strategies and inform future platform investments. Be a driving force in the AI marketing strategy for Mercury, establishing overall narrative, identifying trends for new product or marketing opportunities, and helping shape the AI banking vision. You should have : 8+ years of B2B product marketing experience, with at least 2 years focused on developer products, APIs, or AI platforms Demonstrated GTM ownership: you've built messaging & positioning, defined ICPs, launched products, and driven sustained adoption, ideally for 0-to-1, AI-native, or early-stage products Genuine fluency or interest in the current AI and agentic tooling market, you understand how MCP and CLI work, know the major LLM providers and agent frameworks, and can speak credibly with developers and founders building AI-native applications Hands-on experience with developer marketing channels: docs sites, developer communities, technical content, and bottom-up adoption motions Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clean, compelling narratives. Strong cross-functional instincts; you know how to manage stakeholders, influence product roadmap decisions, and navigate ambiguous and complex problems. Nice to have: Fintech experience is a plus Ability to read and write technical / API documentation Experience with data analysis, SQL is a plus The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity (stock options), and benefits. Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers. Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following: US employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $171,000 - $213,700 Employees outside of New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $153,900 - $192,300 Canadian employees (any location): CAD 161,100 - 201,900 Mercury values diversity & belonging and is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
