Job Accuracy Posting Flag The hours of work, including start and stop times, days off, work area and work site may be subject to change consistent with operations requirements and applicable provisions of the Collective Agreement and statutes. **Testing may be required. ***A criminal record check may be required Summary Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the RN Cardiac Cath Lab/Procedure Room/Electrophysiology Lab/Cardiac Short Stay, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support. Your responsibilities will include: Assess patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families. Make referrals to resources as needed. Support fellow healthcare professionals. Operate within the framework of Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values. Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratio Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPR) set the minimum number of nurses required to safely care for patients on a given unit. Developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the BC Nurses' Union (BCNU), and health organizations across British Columbia, mNPR provides a consistent and transparent approach to staffing that supports safe nursing practice and high-quality patient care. At Providence Health Care (PHC), our approach to implementing mNPR reflects our commitment to person-centred, socially just, compassionate care and our dedication to Indigenous cultural safety. Guided by our mission and values - Spirituality, Integrity, Stewardship, Trust, Excellence, and Respect - PHC is working collaboratively across all departments to ensure mNPR is thoughtfully adapted to the unique needs of each clinical program and specialty area. Physical capability to perform the duties of the position. Organizational skills to manage work effectively. Proficiency in operating related equipment. Your Day to Day: Conduct thorough patient/resident assessments through chart reviews, observations, interviews, and collaboration with peers. Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans based on evidence-based practices, prioritizing patient/resident needs. Adhere to established policies, procedures, and PHC standards while providing high-quality nursing care. Monitor patient/resident progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed for optimal results. Maintain accurate records of assessments, care plans, patient/resident status, and discharge plans using manual and computerized systems. Identify and address patient/resident and family learning needs, providing education and referrals as necessary. Provide direction to staff, promote teamwork, and share clinical knowledge to enhance patient care. Support nursing research initiatives and contribute to the improvement of patient/resident care policies and procedures. Advocate for patients/residents' rights and dignity, facilitate discharge plans, and collaborate with families and community resources.
