RTL Networks considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Summary: </strong>RTL Networks is seeking a Secret cleared Systems Administrator to support the US Navy in San Diego, CA. &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Primary Responsibilities: </strong>Essential skills, knowledge and responsibilities of the Systems Administrator include, but are not limited to:</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Network Infrastructure:</strong></p><ul><li>Computer networking concepts, protocols, and security methodologies.</li><li>Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) architecture and pathways.</li><li>Bandwidth management principles and techniques.</li><li>Network traffic flow (TCP/IP and OSI model).</li><li>Performance tuning tools and techniques.</li><li>Remote access technologies.</li><li>Virtual Private Network (VPN) security.</li><li>Network protocols (TCP/IP, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), directory services).</li><li>Common network tools (e.g., ping, traceroute, nslookup).</li><li>File system implementations (e.g., New Technology File</li><li>Virtualization technologies and virtual machine management.</li></ul><p><strong>Security Expertise:</strong></p><ul><li>IT security principles and methods (e.g., firewalls, demilitarized zones (DMZs), encryption).</li><li>Network security architecture concepts (topology, protocols, defense-in depth).</li><li>Cybersecurity principles, threats, and vulnerabilities.</li><li>National and international cybersecurity laws, regulations, and policies.</li><li>Organizational IT user security policies (e.g., account management, access. control).</li><li>Data security standards (PII, PCI, PHI).</li><li>System administration, network, and operating system hardening techniques.</li><li>Software-based computer protection tools (e.g., firewalls, antivirus antispyware).</li><li>Knowledge of transmission records (Bluetooth, Radio Frequency</li><li>Identification (RFID), Infrared (IR) transmission, Wi-Fi, etc.) and jamming techniques.</li></ul><p><strong>System Administration:</strong></p><ul><li>Server and client operating systems.</li><li>Systems administration concepts and best practices.</li><li>Enterprise IT architecture.</li><li>System/server diagnostic tools and fault identification.</li><li>Operating system command line/prompt (e.g., ipconfig, netstat, dir, nbtstat).</li><li>System maintenance procedures (cleaning, disk checks, reboots, backups, etc.).</li></ul><p><strong>Cloud Computing:</strong></p><ul><li>Cloud computing service models (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS).</li><li>Cloud computing deployment models (private, public, hybrid).</li><li>Cloud security strategy and architecture.</li><li>Migrating workloads between cloud service models.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.&nbsp;</li><li>Four (4) years of system management experience.</li><li>Must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) criteria or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification at time of hire (i.e., Security+).</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></p><ul><li>Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.</li><li>Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.</li><li>Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.</li></ul><p><strong>SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:</strong> Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.
