The Transport Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will operate in a dual role acting as both an EMT transport team member and as a communication specialist in the Transport Center. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Think you’ve got what it takes?&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Successful completion of an Emergency Vehicle Operation Course (EVOC) required &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support American Heart Association required &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>EMT - Emergency Medical Tech Texas Department of State Health Services required or &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>EMT-B - Emergency Medical Tech-Basic Texas Department of State Health Services required or &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>EMT-I - Emergency Medical Tech-Interm&nbsp;Texas Department of State Health Services required or &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>EMT-A - Advanced EMT Texas Department of State Health Services required or &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>EMT-P - Emergency Medical Tech-Parame Texas Department of State Health Services required or &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>LIC PAR -&nbsp;Lic-Paramedic Texas Department of State Health Services required&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Dispatch skills highly preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide patient care through policies, protocols and guidelines delegated by the RN or RRT within the EMT scope of practice &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Provides high quality patient care and customer service &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Obtain and document vital signs and physiological values using appropriate monitors. Respond appropriately to alarms and notify the RN of abnormal findings &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Maintains confidentiality concerning patient/family issues and demonstrates sensitivity to information, ensuring privacy by understanding HIPPA laws as it pertains to health information &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ensures timely response to campus emergencies by rapid/accurate deployment of the code response team in the Transport Center &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>",
