    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<div><ul><li>Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as required to meet the needs of the Company’s business operations.</li><li>Delegate daily work assignments and review priorities and special projects.</li><li>Schedule and perform work in accordance with preventive maintenance program in rooms, coordinating with the Rooms Division Department.</li><li>Ensures final inspection of all engineering&amp;#x1e;related work and execution of all work orders.</li><li>Performs engineering staff functions whenever necessary.</li><li>Ensures all safety equipment is in compliance and working order with federal quarterly/annual inspections to city, state and codes.&nbsp; Maintain knowledge of hotel safety procedures and ensure application of such.</li><li>Handle chemicals for designated uses/surfaces, according to hotel requirements.</li><li>Perform emergency equipment and machinery repair as needed.</li><li>Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all tools.</li><li>Exercise safety precautions when working on equipment (use of safety signs, etc.).</li><li>Carries out supervisory responsibilities that may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.</li></ul></div><div><strong>Responsibilities</strong></div><div>Participate in the preventive maintenance program of all building equipment and rooms.&nbsp; Supervise, train, and inspect the performance of Engineering Department to include the proper operation, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of all heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment. Assist hotel leadership in developing, coordinating, and monitoring a maintenance program to ensure the safety, security and comfort of all staff and guest.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Qualifications</strong></div><div><ul><li>High school graduate or equivalent; college degree or vocational training a plus.</li><li>Any building trade license/certificate from the state of hotel’s operation preferred.</li><li>Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.&nbsp;</li><li>Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.</li><li>Minimum two years’ experience as a hotel maintenance engineer.</li><li>Basic working knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, plumbing and refrigeration equipment.</li><li>Working knowledge of repair and maintenance regarding health codes; plumbing codes; plant equipment; electrical codes; architectural codes; structural codes; blueprints and wiring/plumbing schematics; building code improvement; mechanical and electrical/safety systems construction; national/local fire codes; proper chemical handling and disposal; power and hand tools, meters, etc. as it relates to the technical trades; local mechanical codes; OSHA codes and best practices.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to interpret manufacturer’s literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property.</li><li>Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.</li><li>Ability to endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties.</li><li>Ability to enforce hotel's standards, policies and procedures with staff.</li><li>Ability to troubleshoot and use alternatives in emergency situations.</li><li>Ability to handle potentially hazardous chemicals.</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.</li><li>Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and meet company driving standards.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>&nbsp;Nights and Weekends are a Requirement of this Position!&nbsp;</strong></p></div><div><br>&nbsp;</div>",
