    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><b>Job Summary:</b></p>\n<p>The Machinist works under the supervision of the Lead Supervisor, performing a variety of tasks with&nbsp;manual lathes and/or machining centers by applying knowledge of machine shop theory, procedures, and machinability of materials. Must be familiar with Poreba and DSNG. &nbsp;<b>This position would be an evening shift starting after 2pm.</b></p>\n<p><b>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Set up and operate lathes or machining centers to perform machining functions, such as turning, milling, boring, facing and threading parts.</li>\n <li>Repair work with various threads</li>\n <li>Interpret engineering drawings for specifications, set up and operating requirements.</li>\n <li>Clean machine, tooling and parts, and may perform minor machine maintenance.</li>\n <li>Maintain product identification and traceability of parts including stamping/re-stamping control numbers as required.</li>\n <li>Comply with safety, quality, 5S, and house-keeping requirements throughout the machine shop area in the facility.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>Job Qualifications:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>&nbsp;Experience with setup and operation of CNC Lathes and/or Mills.</li>\n <li>Trade certification considered an asset, but not required.</li>\n <li>Overhead Crane and Forklift Certificates an asset.</li>\n <li><b>Poreba and DSNG</b>&nbsp;<b>experience preferred.</b></li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>Required Skills:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to edit programs</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>Competencies:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Dealing with Ambiguity</li>\n <li>Customer Focus</li>\n <li>Integrity and Trust</li>\n <li>Drive for Results</li>\n <li>Customer Focus</li>\n <li>Effective Communication</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>HSE Requirements (</b><i><b>Training and Physical Requirements</b></i><b>):</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Participate in near miss / incident reporting;</li>\n <li>Adhere to all HSE policies and procedures;</li>\n <li>Able to work in manufacturing environment (walking, standing, noise);</li>\n <li>Ability to lift 35 lbs unassisted.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>Safety sensitive</u></b></p>\n<p>This position is classified as safety sensitive, and employment would be conditional on satisfactory completion of a pre-employment testing.</p>\n<p><b>Preferred method of application and to view all opportunities visit:</b>&nbsp; <a href=\"https://www.nov.com/Careers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">https://www.nov.com/Careers</a></p>\n<p><b>NOV is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Prohibits Discrimination or Harassment of Any Kind</b>: NOV is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunities for everyone and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
