This position plays a critical role in protecting employees from chemical, physical, and biological exposures while ensuring compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and applicable state regulations.</p>\n<p>The Industrial Hygienist will conduct exposure assessments, implement monitoring programs, support regulatory responses, and work closely with safety staff, operations, and management to improve worker health outcomes.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Why work for H&K Group, Inc.?</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience</li>\n <li>100% Company-paid Health Benefits</li>\n <li>401(k) Savings and Investment Plan</li>\n <li>Tuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs</li>\n <li>Company provided on-the-job transportation to meet job responsibilities</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties & Responsibilities;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Identify, evaluate, and control occupational health hazards including:</li>\n <li>Respirable crystalline silica</li>\n <li> Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)</li>\n <li>Dust, noise, heat stress, and chemical exposures</li>\n <li> Conduct air, noise, and exposure monitoring using direct-reading instruments and personal sampling equipment</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain industrial hygiene programs, including exposure monitoring plans, silica exposure control plans, respiratory protection programs and medical surveillance coordination</li>\n <li>Interpret sampling and laboratory data and prepare written reports and recommendations</li>\n <li> Assist in OSHA and MSHA compliance efforts, inspections, and regulatory response letters</li>\n <li> Provide technical support during incidents involving potential chemical or environmental exposures</li>\n <li> Support respirator selection, fit testing, and program administration</li>\n <li> Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and exposure assessments for new processes and projects</li>\n <li>Work collaboratively with Safety, Operations, Environmental, and Project Management teams</li>\n <li> Assist with employee training related to industrial hygiene hazards and controls</li>\n <li> Maintain accurate records in accordance with OSHA/MSHA requirements</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field</li>\n <li>5+ years of relevant industrial hygiene experience</li>\n <li>Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or CIH-eligible</li>\n <li>Experience in construction, mining, or heavy industrial environments</li>\n <li>Experience with exposure monitoring equipment (photo ionization detectors, noise dosimeters, air sampling pumps, Dräger tubes, etc.)</li>\n <li>OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills, Education, and Experience;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>At least 2 years of relevant industrial hygiene experience</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of OSHA and MSHA occupational health regulations</li>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret regulatory standards, sampling results, and technical reports</li>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and correspondence</li>\n <li>Ability to adapt and respond to changing variables</li>\n <li>Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license with clean driving record</li>\n <li>Ability to work well with a team and willingness to collaborate</li>\n <li>Willingness to travel locally daily</li>\n <li>Ability to meet physical requirements</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Frequently required to walk, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and climb ladders</li>\n <li>Regularly required to talk or hear in loud environments</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work Environment;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Occasionally exposed to heavy equipment/machinery, vibration, heights, fumes or airborne particulates, adverse weather conditions</li>\n <li>Noise level is usually moderate</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>H&K Group, Inc</strong>. provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.
