This role requires a deep understanding of defense budgeting, financial policy, and the operational priorities of the U.S. Army. The Senior Advisor will play a key role in shaping the Army's financial future and ensuring its readiness to meet current and future challenges.</p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Strategic Financial Planning:</span> Provide expert advice on long-range financial planning, resource allocation, and budget formulation to align with the Army's strategic objectives and the National Defense Strategy.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Policy Analysis and Development: </span>Analyze complex financial policies and proposed legislation to determine their impact on the Army's budget. Develop and recommend new policies to enhance financial efficiency and effectiveness.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Budget Execution and Oversight: </span>Monitor the execution of the Army's budget, identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions to ensure fiscal discipline and the achievement of program goals.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Liaison and Communication:</span> Serve as a key liaison between the Business Office Staff and senior leaders within the Department of the Army, Department of Defense, other military services and congressional staff.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mentorship and Leadership: </span>Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and other staff members within the budget office, fostering a culture of analytical rigor and professional development.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Special Projects:</span> Lead and participate in special projects and high-level reviews of the direction of the Business Office Staff, providing in-depth analysis and actionable recommendations on a wide range of financial and budgetary issues.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Innovation and Modernization:</span> Identify and advocate for the adoption of innovative financial management practices and technologies to improve efficiency and transparency of the Army's budget processes.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Knowledge:</span> Expert knowledge of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process, federal appropriations law and DoD financial management regulations.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Leadership:</span> Proven ability to lead and influence in a complex organization.
