    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>HTI Contractors, </strong>a division of<strong> The H&K Group, Inc.</strong> is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Paving Crew Laborer to become a part of our team.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Why work for H&K Group, Inc.? </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience</li>\n <li>100% Company-paid Health Benefits</li>\n <li>401(k) Savings and Investment Plan</li>\n <li>Tuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs</li>\n <li>Additional training programs including on the job, online through H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and more</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include: </strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Acquires tools needed for daily operations</li>\n <li>Measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes, and stretches tight line.</li>\n <li>Bolts, nails, aligns, and blocks up under forms.</li>\n <li>Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.</li>\n <li>Levels earth to fine grade specifications.</li>\n <li>Positions, joins, aligns, and seals pipe sections.</li>\n <li>Erects scaffolding, shoring, and braces.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Paving Duties:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <ul>\n  <li>Assists with pre-run markings</li>\n  <li>Uses a paving lute to fine grade before roller man compacts</li>\n  <li>Operates vibratory plate as needed</li>\n  <li>Shovels asphalt as required</li>\n  <li>Direct traffic around work area as required</li>\n </ul>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school OR six months of related experience and/or training\n  <ul>\n   <li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions</li>\n <li>Problem solving</li>\n <li>Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed</li>\n <li>Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Two years of related experience and/or training</li>\n <li>Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries</li>\n <li>OSHA or other relevant safety certifications</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Frequently required to:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl</li>\n   <li>Use hands to finger, handle, feel</li>\n   <li>Reach with hands & arms</li>\n   <li>Talk or hear</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Occasionally required to:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Stand, walk, climb, and balance</li>\n   <li>Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Specific vision requirements:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Distance</li>\n   <li>Peripheral</li>\n   <li>Depth perception</li>\n   <li>Ability to adjust focus</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly exposed to:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Outside weather conditions</li>\n   <li>Vibration</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles</li>\n <li>Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts</li>\n <li>Noise level is usually loud</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>H&K </strong>provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency and value.
