This position ensures the safe and efficient operation of fuel dispensing, assists customers both inside and outside the store, and maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The role combines excellent customer service, fueling assistance, and adherence to company safety and operational standards.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities and Duties:</strong></p><p><u>Customer Service &amp; Sales</u></p><ul><li>Greet all customers promptly and professionally, providing a welcoming and positive experience (&ldquo;Welcome to H&amp;S&rdquo; / &ldquo;Welcome to Chevron&rdquo;)</li><li>Deliver efficient, friendly, and accurate service at checkout and during fueling interactions Communicate promotions, loyalty programs, and product recommendations to customers</li><li>Provide assistance with fueling, propane dispensing, and other customer needs</li><li>Handle customer inquiries or concerns and escalate to management as needed</li></ul><p><u>Fueling Operations &amp; Safety</u></p><ul><li>Safely operate fuel pumps and propane dispensers in compliance with all company, state, and federal safety regulations</li><li>Verify proper fuel types and pump markings to ensure accuracy and prevent contamination</li><li>Monitor fueling area for leaks, spills, or hazards; respond promptly and report any incidents to management</li><li>Follow all safety protocols, including emergency fuel shutoff procedures</li><li>Maintain required training and certifications related to fuel and propane handling</li></ul><p><u>Cash Handling &amp; Register Operations</u></p><ul><li>Accurately process cash, credit, and debit transactions through the Point of Sale (POS) system</li><li>Perform cash counts, safe drops, and drawer balancing per company policy</li><li>Verify identification for restricted sales (alcohol, tobacco, lottery, or credit purchases)</li><li>Ensure compliance with cash-handling and loss-prevention procedures</li></ul><p><u>Store &amp; Fueling Area Maintenance</u></p><ul><li>Keep both the interior and exterior areas of the station clean and well-maintained</li><li>Maintain fuel island supplies including squeegees, paper towels, and windshield cleaner</li><li>Clean and restock self-serve beverage and food stations, ensuring freshness and quality</li><li>Empty trash receptacles, sweep pump areas, and maintain restrooms and entryways</li><li>Report maintenance issues, pump malfunctions, or safety hazards immediately</li></ul><p><u>Teamwork &amp; Operational Support</u></p><ul><li>Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain smooth operations</li><li>Assist with deliveries, stocking, and merchandise rotation</li><li>Support special projects or promotions as assigned by management</li><li>Follow all company policies, procedures, and operational standards</li></ul><p><strong>Education and Work Experience</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred</li><li>Previous experience in retail, fuel service, or customer service environment preferred</li><li>Basic understanding of fuel safety and compliance procedures preferred</li><li>Ability to complete propane training (as required by state/local regulation)</li></ul><p><strong>Skill Set</strong></p><ul><li>Strong customer service and communication skills</li><li>Safety-focused mindset with attention to detail</li><li>Ability to multitask and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Dependable, self-motivated, and able to follow direction</li><li>Basic computer and POS system proficiency</li><li>Ability to learn and apply fueling and safety procedures</li><li>Team-oriented attitude with flexibility for various duties</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Demands and Work Environment</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. &nbsp; Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><ul><li>Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift</li><li>Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds</li><li>Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain</li><li>Regular exposure to fuel fumes and cleaning chemicals (PPE provided)</li><li>Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays</li><li>Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the phone</li></ul><p><br></p></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
