Position Summary At the heart of our Cloud team is a mission to build a secure, scalable, and high-performance platform that powers our cybersecurity products. As a Senior Software Engineer, Cloud, you will own the design, delivery, and operation of critical cloud services, driving architectural decisions and ensuring systems meet the highest standards of reliability, security, and scalability. This role goes beyond implementation. You will lead complex technical initiatives end-to-end, influence system design across teams, and set the standard for engineering excellence within the cloud domain. You’ll partner closely with engineering, security, and product teams to solve deeply technical challenges and evolve our cloud platform to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business. Key Responsibilities Own the architecture, development, and operation of scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant cloud services, with accountability for performance and reliability in production. Drive technical design and architectural decisions for distributed systems, influencing patterns, standards, and long-term platform evolution. Lead complex initiatives end-to-end, from design through deployment and ongoing optimization, ensuring alignment with business and technical priorities. Build and scale cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm) and container orchestration (Kubernetes), improving system resilience and efficiency. Advance cloud security and compliance practices, embedding secure design principles, IAM controls, and encryption into all layers of the platform. Improve system observability and operational excellence, implementing robust monitoring, alerting, and incident response strategies. Drive DevOps maturity, optimizing CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies to support rapid, reliable delivery. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and security teams to define solutions and resolve complex system-level challenges. Mentor and guide engineers, providing technical direction, code reviews, and support for skill development while raising the bar for engineering quality. Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies, making pragmatic decisions that improve system performance, scalability, and developer productivity. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 6–8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant focus on cloud infrastructure and distributed systems. Proven ability to independently design, build, and operate production-grade systems at scale. Strong proficiency in Go, Python, or similar languages, with experience building distributed services. Deep expertise in Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm). Strong experience with AWS services (EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, SQS, IAM), including designing and operating systems in production. Demonstrated ownership of systems, including on-call, incident response, and long-term reliability improvements. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguous, complex technical challenges. Effective communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across teams. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications Expertise in cloud security best practices, including identity, encryption, and compliance frameworks. Experience designing and scaling high-availability distributed systems with automated failover and self-healing capabilities. Strong knowledge of observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK). Experience with event-driven architectures and microservices. Familiarity with HashiCorp ecosystem tools (Vault, Consul, Packer). Experience contributing to or defining engineering standards, patterns, or platform strategy. The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $180,000 + bonus + benefits.
