The Assistant Instructor works under the supervision and is in communication about all aspects of the program with the Figure Skating Director. They provide safe and professional coaching within all rules and regulations of Glenview Park District, Learn to Skate USA, and other governing bodies.<br />\n <br />\n<strong>JOB SUMMARY </strong><br />\nParticipates in the administration and instruction of GPD Skating Academy, to include:</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Assists in instruction with on- and off-ice classes</li>\n\t<li>Assists in teaching children and/or adults the fundamentals of ice skating</li>\n\t<li>Assists in the recruitment of skaters</li>\n\t<li>Handles parent/skater/instructor concerns during off-ice time</li>\n\t<li>Assist with seasonal exhibitions, shows, and competitions</li>\n\t<li>Attends and assists at rink competitions and/or with ice show</li>\n\t<li>Attends job and site-specific required trainings</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p> <br />\n<strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong><br />\nQualified candidates must be at least 16 years of age, with continuing education in figure skating or 3-5 years skating experience. Active membership in a professional association is desirable (PSA, LTS USA, U.S. Figure Skating) while maintaining education and certifications in figure skating.<br />\n <br />\n<strong>SCHEDULING &amp; PAY </strong><br />\nInstructor must be able to attend classes, which take place on Tuesday-Friday evenings, some weekday daytimes and Saturday mornings. Must be able to attend seasonal trainings or staff meetings as required. Pay is commensurate based on prior teaching experience and skating experience and varies by class level, ranging between $22-$27/hour.
