About CODA and the Beaverton Recovery Center
At CODA, we’re leading the charge to provide compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals and families affected by substance use disorders. The Beaverton Recovery Center, our state-of-the-art facility in Washington County, is a transformative hub designed to deliver exceptional care to our community’s most vulnerable.
We’re committed to creating an environment that fosters hope, supports recovery, and builds resilience. As part of our team, you’ll be contributing to a groundbreaking initiative that offers healing and a fresh start to those on their journey to sobriety.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Safely dispense OUD medication as prescribed and continue to monitor patient for potential side effects.
Follow protocols as established by programs Policy and Procedures and as outlined by the OUD Physician Order Sets.
Evaluate and assess medical stability of established patients within program expectations and professional scope, identifying any special needs or circumstances that require licensed medical professional notification.
Perform patient care activities within scope, according to program policy and procedures, medication orders, and other established patient care processes.
Recognize and initiate appropriate response to crisis or emergency situations. Lift patient if necessary for safety.
Participate in treatment team meetings, and similar other activities as needed.
Provide care coordination, case management and patient health in individual or group settings.
Work collaboratively with clinical and medical teams to ensure that safety and industry standards are maintained program wide.
Administer and review PPD (Tuberculosis testing for purified protein derivative) as needed.
Collect urinalysis sample, perform rapid toxicology screening, according to established policies as needed.
Travel to sites to provide services or deliver medications as needed.
Achieve outcomes using methods that align with CODA’s mission and values:
Communicate accurately and positively about recovery and the use of evidence-based treatments.
Use data and science to identify barriers, overcome obstacles, and inform decisions.
Be financially responsible; avoid waste, document accurately, seek new opportunities to serve.
Demonstrate compassion and respect for others.
Assisting with short-term coverage for additional clinical and administrative duties where needed.
Provide information, assistance, and occasional training to other team members.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure. Completion of an accredited nursing education program that includes at least 500 hours of direct patient contact.
Experience with substance use disorder or mental health population preferred but not required
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrated consistency in the application of “6 Rights” of medication administration.
Demonstrated understanding of and ability to adhere to established principles of patient safety.
Make judgments in practice, substantiated with evidence, that integrate nursing science in the provision of safe, quality care and that promote the health of patients within a family and community context.
Ability to utilize both oral and written communications skills to effectively communicate with clients, co-workers, community resources, supervisors,
and various other individuals encountered in the course of performing work while maintaining client confidentiality and establishing professional rapport.
Ability to maintain professional communications and boundaries while managing complex situations and interacting with individuals diagnosed with substance use or co-occurring conditions.
Ability to operate a computer, utilize basic MS Office programs, and effectively navigate and maintain client records in an electronic medical records system.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
Current, unencumbered Oregon RN or LPN license.
Current Oregon or Washington driver’s license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to acquire within one month of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform Basic Life Support for 15 minutes continuously and maintain BLS certification.
Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.
Must be able to follow proper protocol while interacting directly with patients and working in a clinical environment.
Must be able to operate a personal computer, including reading from a computer monitor, keyboarding, and using a mouse.
Must be able to negotiate staircase, reach, bend, and handle objects.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
Knowledge of chemical dependency is required.
Consistent attendance and punctuality are required of this position.
Maintain current licensure by updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations.
A negative result on all pre-employment, reasonable basis, and post-accident drug screens.
An acceptable criminal record as determined by DHS, the Oregon Administrative Rules, and the Oregon Revised Statutes; and no current supervised parole or probation.
An acceptable driving record and the recommended amount of personal automobile insurance as determined by CODA’s automobile insurance provider.
