Camp Counselors are responsible for the overall day to day group programming, behavior management, and direct supervision and safety of a group of 2 - 30 participants / children. This includes planning and implementing camp activities in accordance with both age and developmentally appropriate practices as outlined by our schedules and guidelines.</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Provide safety and supervision to all program participants and ensure that activities are planned and followed.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain coordination with facility personnel for safety and benefit of participants in the program.&nbsp;</li><li>Ensure that safety rules and practices are followed as they relate to children and staff.</li><li>Document all necessary administrative forms as directed by Youth Programs Coordinator or Camp Assistant Director.&nbsp;</li><li>Complete and maintain accurate daily attendance.</li><li>Distribute and supervise lunch and snack time daily using universal health/sanitation practices.</li><li>Document behavioral issues and/or incidents daily, as needed.</li><li>Maintain high level of professionalism at all times with parents, facility personnel, staff, and participants.&nbsp;</li><li>Uphold all Miami Lakes Athletic Club policies and Risk Management / Safety procedures which require reporting all incident and accidents to the Youth Programs Coordinator or Camp Assistant Director immediately.</li><li>Know and follow proper emergency procedures appropriate to the facility and in conformity with procedures adopted by the Miami Lakes Athletic Club to ensure the safety of children.</li><li>Monitor and maintain the quality of supplies and materials. Report to Youth Programs Coordinator or Camp Assistant Director when supplies are needed.</li><li>Provide regular inspection of area used by the program to ensure both cleanliness and safety.</li><li>Check bathrooms for supplies and basic cleanliness before allowing participants to enter.</li><li>Attend all staff meetings and training opportunities as required.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>A high school diploma or GED.</li><li>Minimum of one to two (4 or more) years&rsquo; experience of working with school aged children</li><li>Ability to relate to children.</li><li>The counselor must be at least 18 years old at the time of hire.</li><li>Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.</li><li>CPR / First-Aid Certification</li></ul><p><strong>POSITIONS TYPE/ EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Seasonal Full-Time Position</li><li>Monday &ndash; Friday&nbsp;</li><li>7:30 am -6:00 pm (Schedule Varies)</li><li>Camp Dates: June 8, 2026 &ndash; August 7, 2026</li></ul></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
