As a fully competent engineer, the role involves applying well-established expertise to complete tasks and projects with minimal supervision. This role includes collaboration with cross-functional teams and occasional mentoring of less experienced engineers. The Mechanical Engineer contributes to product performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction while ensuring compliance with industry standards.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This role will be onsite in Raleigh, NC. Relocation Assistance is available.</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Independently design and develop power electronics hardware platforms or related components, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, IEEE, IEC, CSA) and customer specifications.</li>\n <li>Conduct engineering analyses to optimize product performance, cost, and efficiency.</li>\n <li>Perform detailed failure analysis on design-related issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to improve product quality and reliability.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure successful integration of designs into production.</li>\n <li>Participate in design reviews to provide technical input and ensure that designs meet project and customer requirements.</li>\n <li>Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.</li>\n <li>Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure product designs remain competitive and compliant.</li>\n <li>Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, promoting innovation and efficiency in the design process.</li>\n <li>Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance as needed, though leadership is not a primary focus of this role.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.</li>\n <li>More than 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on electronics packaging, thermal design, or related product design.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with design and analysis tools, including electrical and thermal analysis software (e.g., PTC Creo, SolidWorks, ANSYS).</li>\n <li>Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., UL, IEEE, IEC, CSA) and regulatory requirements for transformers or components.</li>\n <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.</li>\n <li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working in cross-functional teams.</li>\n <li>Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.</li>\n <li>Experience conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions for design-related issues.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with mechanical and cooling solutions for data center applications.</li>\n <li>Experience designing mechanical solutions for high voltage (>=400V) and high frequency applications.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with PTC Creo and its sheet metal and cable design modules. </li>\n <li>Experience with sheet metal design and fabrication, including knowledge of attachment methods such as welding and staking.</li>\n <li>Exposure to cable design and fabrication, with a broad understanding of wire, terminal, and connector selection.</li>\n <li>Exposure to PCB design and basic mechanical placement requirements.</li>\n <li>Ability to lead or follow, as required by the project or situation.</li>\n</ul>\n<strong>Join ERMCO and TRANSFORM your career!</strong>\n<h2>Job Locations</h2>US-NC-Raleigh",
