Now, in our 25th year, we are expanding into a growth engine for our clients&mdash;powered by <strong>AI, integrated creative, and next-gen content strategy</strong>&mdash;and for the business itself, driving both revenue and enterprise value.</p><p><strong>JOB SUMMARY:</strong></p><p>The CNC Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of CNC machines to fabricate scenic and structural components for ASTOUND&rsquo;s event, exhibit, and environment projects. This hands-on role focuses on machine operation, material handling, and basic maintenance&mdash;executed with attention to quality, safety, and efficiency.</p><p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITES:</strong></p><ul><li>Work as part of the production team in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.</li><li>Safely operate CNC routers or milling machines to cut various materials (wood, plastic, aluminum, etc.) based on provided programs.</li><li>Set up machines for each job, including securing materials, loading tooling, and zeroing machine settings.</li><li>Interpret work orders, setup sheets, and drawings to ensure accurate part fabrication.</li><li>Monitor machine operations and make on-the-fly adjustments to maintain quality and prevent downtime.</li><li>Handle raw materials and finished parts, ensuring proper labeling and organization.</li><li>Conduct routine part inspections using measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, etc.) to verify conformity to specifications.</li><li>Identify and report quality issues or machine malfunctions to supervisors or programmers.</li><li>Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning machines, changing bits, and maintaining a safe and organized work area.</li><li>Assist with unloading, staging, and post-processing of cut parts (e.g., sanding, de-tab, edge prepping).</li><li>Support other departments as needed in collaboration with carpentry, graphics, and fabrication teams.</li><li>Follow instructions from the CNC Programmer, Manager, and senior department members.</li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><ul><li>Experience operating CNC routers in a scenic, exhibit, or custom fabrication shop.</li><li>Familiarity with KOMO, WEEKE, or similar CNC brands.</li><li>Experience using hand and power tools for part prep and cleanup.</li><li>Forklift and/or scissor lift certification is an asset.</li><li>1&ndash;3 years experience operating CNC machinery in a production or fabrication environment.</li><li>Familiarity with working around G-code programs and interpreting simple machine readouts.</li><li>Ability to read and follow job packets, part labels, and basic technical drawings.</li><li>Comfortable working with wood, foam, plastic, and other common fabrication materials.</li><li>Strong work ethic &ndash; punctual, dependable, and safety-conscious.</li><li>Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task with minimal supervision.</li><li>Basic understanding of shop math and measuring tools.</li><li>Willingness to learn new machines, tools, and processes.</li></ul><p><strong>THE VALUES YOU ALIGN WITH:</strong></p><p>Just as important as the skills you bring to our team, is alignment with our values. &nbsp;This means that as a collective we will collaborate with the same mindset to deliver incredible, market leading experiences for our clients.&nbsp;</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Steadfast Courage - We fearlessly take on challenges and make bold decisions to achieve remarkable results.&nbsp;</li><li>Unwavering Integrity - We hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards and prioritize honesty, transparency, and professionalism.&nbsp;</li><li>Boundless Creativity - We push boundaries with innovative, collaborative ideas that surpass expectations and create unforgettable experiences.&nbsp;</li><li>Unparalleled Service - We fearlessly take on challenges and make bold decisions to achieve remarkable results.&nbsp;</li><li>Insatiable Curiosity - We never stop learning, exploring, and taking risks to create breakthrough experiences.&nbsp;</li><li>Constant Collaboration - We thrive on teamwork, leverage diverse perspectives, and support each other to deliver experiences greater than the sum of their parts.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION</strong></p><p>The compensation package will be commensurate with experience.
