We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Scope of Job</u></strong><strong>: </strong></p>\n<p>The Sr. Design Engineer is responsible for creating, reviewing, and managing engineering deliverables as assigned by the Sr. Director Engineering or Project Managers.  Duties include both day-to-day tasks as assigned and longer term, broader scope responsibilities associated with specific projects.   As part of the Engineering team, the Sr. Design Engineer will support projects throughout the project life cycle; project development and conceptual design, project design for construction, project documentation following construction, and operations and maintenance.  The Sr. Design Engineer is responsible to consistently follow work practices and conventions established within the Engineering team, as well as to engage in refining and documenting design/engineering processes, best practices, code compliance, and product/system application details.  The Sr. Design Engineer must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in communicating complex technical topics with non-technical audiences.  The Sr. Design Engineer will be responsible for clear communications and effective interactions both internally within the Company and with Company consultants, contractors, clients, and partners.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare engineering deliverables, including plan and elevation drawings, schematics, calculations, POs, and schedules in support of PV (photovoltaic) energy generation system design, for commercial and utility projects in the 500 kW to 20 MW scale. Review and revise engineering deliverables prepared by others. Develop designs in consideration of company safety program and OSHA safety requirements for construction and system operation.</li>\n <li>Conduct site assessments, prepare energy models and conceptual design deliverables in support of business development and new product/vendor integration. </li>\n <li>Communications with Project Managers, who coordinate scheduling and permitting for project execution.</li>\n <li>Create, organize, and maintain documents associated with projects’ basis of design throughout the project life cycle; assist the business development team in identifying key project design risks and enabling effective decisions.</li>\n <li>Implement strategies for integration of new tools, new products, new vendors, code changes, and best practices, and disseminate to internal departments as needed.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Supervision of Others</u></strong>: None.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Working Conditions</u></strong>: Most work time will be spent in an office environment, but occasional site visits may be performed.  Significant time spent on the phone and working on computer.</p>\n<h2> </h2>\n<h2><u>Fiscal Responsibilities</u>: None.</h2>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><u>Education/Experience</u> – </p>\n<p>Typically requires:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or electrical engineering</li>\n <li>Ten years’ relevant design experience, particularly including experience in designing mechanical or electrical systems or electrical systems for construction; commercial PV design preferred</li>\n <li>Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certificate</li>\n <li>Registered Professional Engineer (PRE) preferred</li>\n <li>NABCEP certified</li>\n <li>Experience with industry standard PV systems and energy modeling tools</li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Skills/Knowledge/Abilities</u> – </p>\n<p>Requires knowledge of:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>National Electric Code and other model codes</li>\n <li>Project management experience</li>\n <li>Computer-based drafting experience (AutoCAD)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Physical Requirements</u></strong>: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.</p>\n<p> </p>",
