    "description": "<p>WAAS will be offering a blended (online + in-person) class for those wishing to pursue their Emergency Medical Technician certification.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WHEN / WHERE</span> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Class will start on August 25th and run through December 1st. \n<ul>\n<li>The first assignments are due on August 24th, with the first in-person meeting on August 25th.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Final testing will take place on December 1st.</li>\n<li>Learning will primarily take place on online with MANDATORY in-person skills lab sessions on TUESDAYS from 5-9:30pm.</li>\n<li>Patient contacts are an essential part to the course. Students will register for ride-along slots that occur outside of class time.<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">EXPECTATIONS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>You will attend ALL skills lab sessions.</li>\n<li>You will login to MyBRADY a minimum of 3x/week.</li>\n<li>You will submit all required assignments prior to participating in that week's skills lab.</li>\n<li>You will take responsibility for your own learning. Online learning is not a fit for all learners. You must be a self-starter to complete this course. There is a lot of information to cover in a short amount of time. In-person sessions are for skills, but you are responsible for learning the material beforehand. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">REQUIREMENTS</span> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>A valid American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider CPR card (which must remain valid for the duration of class). This course may be taken through WAAS, with your course instructor, for an additional fee.</li>\n<li>Reliable access to the internet and a laptop computer. A mobile device will not grant you complete access to our online classroom.</li>\n<li>Must be 18 years old by December 1, 2026.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">TOTAL COST $1500</span> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Included in the cost is: background check, Fisdap testing software, textbook and online testing software, and a uniform shirt</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Costs not included in the class fee:</span> EMS pants and boots which are needed for all in-person activities. National Registry Cognitive Exam fees, a computer-based test administered at a certified Pearson Vue testing center. This step is NOT a part of this EMT course and is up to the student to complete after successful completion of the course.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">A NON-REFUNDABLE $500 deposit is required immediately to reserve your seat in the class.</span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Make a payment on WinonaAmbulance.com &gt; Patient Resources &gt; Make a Payment and put \"EMT COURSE\" in as the run number.</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Any remaining balance must be received by August 14th before 4pm</span>.</li>\n<li>Class materials will be available for pickup in early August, once all fees are paid.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>",
