Ensure a safety-first culture, guiding subordinates to adhere to safety procedures, aiming for zero accidents. Implement and supervise manufacturing policies, fostering the production of high-quality products, timely deliveries, and cost-effectiveness through continuous improvement activities. Oversee daily/monthly production activities, ensuring achievement of production targets, and reporting issues to the area manager for strategic adjustments. Collaborate with the area manager in developing the annual profit plan, including budgeting, forecasting, labor allocation, equipment needs, quality goals, and continuous improvement programs. Provide input and support for new product plans/programs. Contribute to enhancing business objectives and financial performance at the Plant, Division, and Corporation levels. Facilitate a team environment w/ maintenance, quality, and production to ensure all safety operative goals are met Actively support full implementation of the 5S initiatives Work closely with the quality area to create and maintain systems that ensure quality products Support Teammates in their efforts to consistently exceed customer expectations, maximize production and quality while minimizing downtime and scrap Communicate all potential quality concerns Enforce all areas and plant quality procedures Maintain all customer and TS requirements CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT/ TRAINING Actively encourage participation in idea program by effectively resolving and implementing Teammate ideas Identify training opportunities to develop and maintain a highly motivated and capable team Promote a continuous improvement atmosphere to ensure teammates are engaged Lead efforts to reduce costs and improve efficiency to meet planned / plant objectives Facilitate Metalsa Model and Metalsa Operating System training and implementation Develop, conduct, deliver, and assess training needs for Employee Development and Succession Education & Experience Associates degree, equivalent experience, or skill that are minimally required for competent performance 5-7 years management experience. 2 years using lean manufacturing tools 2 years of with Quality systems experience. Participation in a significant role on the MOS, either deploying practice, training in a tool or methodology, leading problem solving or other applied leadership experience Technical Skills Proficient computer skills/Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point) Product knowledge with component identification Technical knowledge of Procedures, Products, Planning, Quality and Processes Quality Management Systems Human Development Management Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Management Fundamentals.
