This position involves working in the Emergency Department, delivering critical care to Veterans with acute medical conditions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We have full-time, part-time and PRN contract positions available. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Utilize broad-based clinical knowledge to effectively assess, implement health promotion and prevention interventions, and manage acute illnesses and injuries in an emergency setting</p></li>\n <li><p>Perform rapid patient assessments and triage to prioritize care based on acuity levels</p></li>\n <li><p>Initiate appropriate emergency interventions, treatments, and procedures according to established protocols</p></li>\n <li><p>Monitor and identify changes in patient status, rapidly responding to life-threatening situations</p></li>\n <li><p>Provide patient-centered care by developing care plans and responding to significant changes in patient health conditions</p></li>\n <li><p>Document patient assessments and plans of care in the electronic medical record using designated templates within required timeframes</p></li>\n <li><p>Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, maintaining 100% accuracy with Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA)</p></li>\n <li><p>Perform various emergency nursing procedures including IV insertion, central line care, wound care, and blood product administration</p></li>\n <li><p>Coordinate patient flow through the emergency department including admissions and discharges</p></li>\n <li><p>Perform cardiac monitoring and interpret basic cardiac rhythms</p></li>\n <li><p>Respond to and assist in emergency situations including resuscitation efforts</p></li>\n <li><p>Communicate effectively with physicians, healthcare team members, patients, and families</p></li>\n <li>Demonstrate VA core values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence (ICARE)</li>\n <li><p>Complete all CPRS clinical alerts daily and maintain proper documentation</p></li>\n <li><p>Support trauma response and mass casualty protocols when necessary</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Minimum of one year recent experience in Emergency Department nursing</p></li>\n <li><p>Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by either the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)</p></li>\n <li><p>Current, full, active, and unrestricted registered nurse license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia</p></li>\n <li><p>AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification</p></li>\n <li><p>AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification</p></li>\n <li><p>Demonstrated proficiency in all elements of emergency nursing process</p></li>\n <li><p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to undergo and pass a government-sponsored background investigation (U.S. Citizenship Required)</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to physically perform a full range of nursing duties without restrictions</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience with emergency procedures, trauma protocols, and critical interventions preferred</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Location</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>VA Saginaw Healthcare System, 1500 Weiss Street, Saginaw, MD</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>About CVP</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>CVP is an award-winning healthcare and next-gen technology and consulting services firm solving critical problems for healthcare, national security, and public sector clients.
