The Civil/Structural Engineer independently performs assignments requiring the application of standard design engineering techniques for a small project or selected segments of a larger project. The incumbent must be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make minor design adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. We offer a competitive compensation package, flexible and hybrid work schedules, and a comprehensive benefits program to attract and retain the best professionals in the field.</p>\n<h2></h2>\n<p><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Responsible for technical direction over a group of engineers or specialists.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum, or equivalent. </p>\n<p>Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Normally requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in Civil/Structural Engineering (or equivalent working knowledge/experience). Usually referred to as a lead position. Registration as a licensed professional engineer is required. Incumbent must be cognizant of the capabilities and limitations of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment to effectively direct their use for diverse engineering assignments.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Participates in the development of project design concepts and criteria.</li>\n <li>Analyzes complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures.</li>\n <li>Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability.</li>\n <li>Monitors project progress for technical accuracy and adherence to schedule and budget.</li>\n <li>Represents respective projects at meetings and conferences.</li>\n <li>May plan, organize, and supervise design engineering activities for a project of significant size and complexly or two or more projects of moderate size and complexity.</li>\n <li>Provides conceptual design input for preliminary project estimates.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>LANGUAGE SKILLS</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers and engineers.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Occasionally may conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Normal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. Occasionally may visit or be temporarily assigned to work in an operating plant or at a construction site. This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and airborne particles.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>#LI-Hybrid </p>",
