Overview Elevate your journey as a Peer Recovery Specialist and make a significant impact by sharing your own recovery story to inspire and support others. In this role, you'll engage in pre, during, and post-treatment engagement, offering vital family support and education. Your dedication will link individuals to recovery communities, navigate barriers, and facilitate empowerment, adhering to Recovery and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) philosophies. Join us in promoting hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness while advocating for individuals' rights and fostering a continuum of care in the community. Responsibilities As a Peer Recovery Specialist, your role is diverse and critical. You'll actively engage in linking individuals to recovery communities and ancillary services, encouraging sobriety-based activities, and providing ongoing support throughout their recovery journey. Advocacy on behalf of individuals with families, courts, and service systems is crucial, ensuring access, responsiveness, and protection of personal rights. Your contributions in coordinating services, completing necessary documentation, and promoting positive interactions within Chestnut and the broader community are fundamental. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Five years in recovery or a combination of experience and education totaling 5 years Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) or preference for crisis intervention training Valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance, and insurability Basic computer skills: MS Word, email, and electronic medical record (EMR) usage Are you intrigued by this job but don’t meet every single requirement?
